| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Lol it's like they cant' even go to a resturant with some really awkward atmosphere. A lot of practicing featured in this episode with their song although I thought the style of it is a bit repetitive. They sure are getting into it though.  Meh slow paced episode but it did express their emotions pretty clear. |

| Preparation for first major event. Musical about a guy who likes freedom but chose to be a king instead... Hosoya-san's character being first timer to "normal people" culture. Everyone's helping the main guy, but lacks balance. Plus the promising team is good as expected. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bq3gxgzyzHo That performance made the main guy to go practice more. Maeno-san's character works part-time as a bartender and pianist, huh. Heartwarming reason for him to get involved in musical. Special ED ("Quintet (五重奏～クインテット～)") by the main team, showing that they work on their worry together. The main guy became the team leader. |

| Is this Starmyu I'm watching?? NO SUDDEN SINGING THIS EPISODE. This was like the most natural musical-like episode so far. It was good! Fangirl in me died when Tengenji put on glasses >_< Also love Tsukigami's jabs at him after that, the two of them have a great dynamic. Next week we finally see more of Nayuki's sisters, can't wait. Side note - The director just joined Twitter and he said that everything in Starmyu is hand-drawn. They don't even use motion capture or anything, they watch the choreography reference videos then draw it out. |

| That was so PRECIOUS. It was a breath of fresh air to see Hoshitani that frustrated, he's always so positive I thought it would be nice if reality hits his mind for a little bit. Little Kuga was an adorable kid. And it's lovely that he wants to show his mother a real performance to make her happy. It seems like guys are now fine and ready for stage huh. Yay! The song they sung together had me dying. |

| A more serious episode focused on Hoshitani and the rest of the group. Song was forgettable, but it's nice too see the direction they're heading into now. |

| My least favourite episode of Starmyu yet. Hoping next weeks will be better, nothing really stood out about this one other than at the first when they were asked if any of their faces were injured rather than if they were injured- that was funny. |

Thanks for the info, although I think it's quite clear that they don't use mo-cap (because it's not 3DCGI), I think you mean rotoscope instead :) But even then it's quite clear because it's not unusually fluid in comparison to the rest of the animation. The dancing is slightly more fluid and not as awkward as it was in episode 1, which is nice. I enjoyed the Team Hiiragi's performance. But that last song with Team Otori was really good, beats any dancing Team Hiiragi did :P I'm liking the bgm a lot as well, especially that lullaby-sounding one when Kuga was talking to Nayuki. |

Same, but I figured it out after we saw Kuga working. I'm guessing he's not there half of the time because of his part-time job. |

| I expected Kuga's backstory to be much, much sadder and to probably include a dying little sibling or two but I guess Nayuki has the 'cute little sister' angle covered. I agree Kuga should have been the leader even though I liked Hoshitani in this episode. It's just that Kuga has a way of figuring out what is going on with virtually all the members of the team and knows just what to say to make them feel better. He just proved that today when he told Hoshitani that he doesn't have to be a bouncing genki ball 24/7. Much better dancing in this episode even if I dislike twirling about. And I know that it's a plot contrivance but it's a tad annoying how Hoshitani fails to realize- or at least to wonder- Ohtori as the guy who inspired him to join Ayanagi Academy. Ohtori changed his hairstyle but considering that Hoshitani knows that mystery boy goes to Ayanagi, should be a third year by now, and is one hell of a good dancer and thus likely to be a star student, it is strange that he has yet to at least consider the possibility. Especially since Hoshitani is sort of looking for mystery boy and all. |

Had Hoshitani noticed, rest assured that we would have one of those poignant-verging-on-silly montages. More, since meeting Ohotori Hoshitani has wondered about the mystery boy without as much as linking the two. So no, Hoshitani has no idea and that's to be expected given he is not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed and his character type is prone to missing out things as it is. I am sure they are saving it for a big reveal, full of drama, when it finally hits Hoshitani. With that said, I'm all for a song about the wonders of hamburgers. |

| I like the way they're progressing with this series. It's way more slice-of-life than most musical anime I've seen, and it's definitely a huge plus that they didn't resort to 3D CGI to cut corners on animation. The dance practice and choreography scenes are nice to watch. Also, I agree that Kuga is the most adorable. <3 |

| From the beginning I feel this anime isn't escpecially for me, but it isn't bad. Every episode passes fairly quickly and I like all the guys! Anyway in 5th episode I miss random singing scenes haha. |

| Team Hiragi rules! I'm glad Team Otori are good friends now and trying to help Hoshitani. It was really cute that they decided to make him the team leader. It must really suck to be the one who holds the team back and to be unable to help by just leaving. |

| Nayuki want to be an elf? Neither songs were that good, the other team are uninteresting characters and so is Otori. At least they played 5 seconds of the ED song. |
| I like the performances. Non CG is nice. I think a wave of boy idols/bands is coming along~! There are some in the upcoming seasons as well. |

| This is starting to turn into my AOTS. Team Hiragi was on FIYA! WHOO! That was great. The best part of it all? None of it was in that ugly rubber CGI. Shuu's reason for getting into performing was so heartwarming and sweet, really didn't expect myself to be so moved by it. I like what he said to Hoshitani, how nobody can stay happy all of the time. Loved the ED, this feels like a boys' rendition of Wake Up Girls. |
