Yo yo yo. My name is Mr. Hat. I've been vegan for half a year now. Goin good. Still learning the ropes to an extent. My worst offence is probably accidentally eating egg rolls. Like, how the fuck do you not realize that EGG rolls have eggs? It always surprises me that I'm still able to find new ways to improve myself.

Anyways, I'm 22 years old. My first experience with anime was probably watching one piece at my grandma's, 'cause she had more channels than I did. I live in the south, so I can teach you about, like, moonshine and shootin' tin cans and stuff. Nice to meet you.

Hey, names Tegan been a vegan for about 3 months before that I was a vegetarian for just over a year. I became a vegetarian because of Kalel (the YouTuber) and then I also became a vegan because of her :)
So I'm 17 years old, I live in England been watching anime for maybe 9 years on and off the last year because I had a massive and I mean massive house fire...anyways hope to get to know some people and just have fun really :D

I've seen some of Kalel's videos. She's pretty cool. Youtube was a big influence for me as well. I'd honestly never put much thought into veganism beforehand. Welcome to the club.

hey yall. my name is shotz. i've been a vegan for 5 years. well mostly vegan. i don't eat meat, dairy. eggs, etc. don't wear leather, etc. though i do drink copious amounts of beer (apparently fish oil is used for bottling?) and smoke cigs. and sometimes i steal candy from my little siblings on halloween.

my main motivation is animal rights. animals are awesome, i don't want them to die.

I think the closest we get is a handful of vegetarian characters. Unfortunately, the anime industry wants their characters to be likeable so they can sell merchandise. Veganism isn't exactly relatable. This combined with the scarcity of vegans is why I think it's just completely ignored.

There could be something really obscure or something that metaphorically hints at it, but I haven't found it yet.

hey i'm [bleeped out] and i've only been vegan for 2 months but you gotta be new at some point. i'm one of those people who instantly went vegan after watching cowspiracy. so i came for helping the environment, stayed for all the health benefits.

currently in the process of trying to subtly get everyone close to me to go vegan.

Yeah, me too my sister is a vegetarian and my mom is currently trying to be vegan, I was trying to help my sister to be vegan but my mom didn't want me to.( this was before my mom was trying to be vegan) my step dad is super annoying with it you know about protein:( and my brother is too obsessed with his girlfriend so.. :)

Hi, I'm Jordan. Right now I'm a shitty "vegan" because I'm leeching off of my family while I go to college, meaning I pick off of whatever they have around, but I convince them to make vegan meals every once in awhile, what I buy for myself more ethical, and once I'm independent again I'm going straight back to full veganism. I'm in it for the rights of nonhuman animals (and the world we all live on), and I'm mostly against the "pet business," as well. I have companions of other species, but I think the business and "pet culture" should be phased out because it's sort of gross to breed things to be dependent on you. Gary Francione is my vegan role model.

As for other traits, I like studying, I talk about fiction 99% of the time I'm talking about anything, I'm into video games, complaining about Donald Trump, I used the ' XD ' face unironically, I want to major in neuroscience, I'm easily amused, and that... probably about covers it.

It got me thinking that day and I searched it on youtube and looked at some videos, pretty much went vegan the next day. It seemed like common sense to me. Ethics, Health, Environmental.

I also like anime and all that stuff so looking forward to chatting sometime.

hey all, glad to find fellow vegans here on MAL! I've been vegan for three months now, after being vegetarian for 7 years (with trying to go vegan back and forth, but the timing now was just right). it's always good to exchange info especially about potetinal places to eat outside our homes and stuff. so yeah nice meeting you.

edit: I forgot the most significant thing... I'm CJ, 23 and brazilian

Besides being vegan and into anime and the like, I am also part of a small vegan film group that makes skits and anything we feel like touching on.

Hey guys. Kind of late on the introduction post but whatever :/ I was vegan for about a year. I went vegan cold turkey after a viewing of some horrific slaughterhouse footage inspired 38 or so straight hours of frantic Googling. I initially made this club as an act of 'lawful' retaliation against a moderator who deleted a thread I made about veganism because it had devolved into a top quality poo-slinging session. But there's a 'vegan space' so to speak on MAL now so that's pretty cool.

As I mentioned I was vegan, but I've started eating a bit of fish again. Not a lot and not everyday...but can't really claim to be a strict dietary vegan anymore. That being said I do still subscribe to vegan ethics.

I’ll be posting a few vegan recipes in @shotz_ thread in the upcoming weeks. I hope some other people will as well. Peace ppl.

Hey!
Found my way here because of a certain casual thread!

I have been on MAL for quite some time but I have mostly used this place for keeping track of things I have watched/read. I have a few ancient akward messages and posts... not actually sure why I decided to actually use the forums again...
I feel like dinosaur here... not even sure If that is true...

I love all storytelling mediums as well as training/martial arts... Been Vegan for over a year.

I think I am "introducing" myself here since there's so much stupid drivel written in THAT thread that I had to just find a place where people actually just get it.

I'm not the most active MAL club or forum user, but I figured I'd join another one anyway.

I've been a vegan for around seven years and I'm 23. I'd watched anime and read manga fairly early on, but didn't really get into it until I was around 16. I was aware of veganism for some time since my older brother, who is currently in his late 30s, went vegetarian when he was 16 and later transitioned to veganism.

He had already moved out and started his only family before I actually noticed though haha. Anyway, eventually I ended up looking into veganism and made the switch really quickly. Easily one of the best decisions I've ever made haha. Curiously, he never tried to talk to me about veganism. I suppose I could have asked him about it, but I made the mistake of asking our mom instead, who more or less just brushed it off haha.

I'm vegan for the animals, the environment, and my own benefit.

I'm enjoy creating things, regardless of the medium, but I spend most of my time programming. I play games, but not as much as I used to. I used to draw and tried my hand at authoring a fantasy novel, but didn't get very far. I'd like to try again at some point though.

I also enjoy learning about other cultures and studying languages. More recently, I've been learning the fingerstyle guitar playing technique.

Anyway, I'd like to try to be more active, but I can't really say for certain one way or the other, so no guarantees. I do appreciate this club's existence though. ^^
