I am so excited! I hope the adaptation will be as good as manga cause I really love it. It's even more hilarious than Barakamon.

Always felt Barakamon should have gotten a second season already, but I'm very curious how this prequel handles new characters and stuff. Though part of why I enjoyed Barakamon was because of the clear contrast in age and the unique setting.

Interested in Handa's past dough, so I guess I'm gonna treat this like a spin-off or something and wait for season two to deliver my judgment.

I'm glad I haven't read the manga yet. Handa-kun's high school years will be all-new to me. ^_^

I didn't even know that Barakamon had a sequel manga until a few moments ago. Having high expectations for this adaptation since the original is a favorite in my list.

That's no a sequel, though. It's a prequel.

And if people expect it to be similar to Barakamon - don't, you'll be dissapointed. It's more similar to Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. That being said, manga itself is great and if done right, it will be one of the best comedy in the recent years.

I think you'll enjoy it, OP! It's not exactly the same type of humor as Barakamon; like @AntonKutovoi said, it's more similar to a 4-koma anime like Gekkan Shoujo. That's not bad though; as long as you've seen Barakamon and like Handa's derpiness, I think you'll enjoy the anime. I can't stop laughing whenever I read it! :D

I am hollering right now because i totally missed this news. I love the manga so much, it's really hilarious and it has so many memorable moments. A lot of the stuff in this prequel helps me appreciate and understand the Handa from Barakamon a lot more. It's really enjoyable.

I'm going to watch this. Then, rewatch Barakamon to compare past Handa to the current one whom I grew to love. Can't wait.

Read the 1st chapter and I think it's funnier than Barakamon.
Hope the adaptation is good! :D

I'm really looking forward to watching this!

Though one of the biggest reasons why I loved Barakamon was because of Naru, I'm still excited to watch this even if I know she won't be there. Looking forward to seeing more of Handa~

much funnier from barakamon, but less atmospheric and healing... expect that...

Best case scenario, if this goes well, maybe they'll adapt more of Barakamon and make a season two for that after this...

I will watch this but from what saw from the manga (first few chapters) it doesn't capture the essence of Barakamon at all. It also doesn't have Naru which is a big minus.

If I do enjoy Handa-Kun I will without a doubt watch Barakamon, but right now I'm busy with other series.

I wanna know this, too. Nobunaga's Handa is so dead, I find it hard to engulf. I just hope it wasn't because they wanted him to sound younger just because he's in highschool here. Hope Ono is busy or something.
