Are the previous anime needed to understand the story of origination? And only one or both?

The reason Origination was so good was precisely because the previous seasons set up the world, the mood and got you to know the characters. You are going to miss out on most of the experience/enjoyment if you skip the prequels.

And if you don't enjoy the prequels you won't probably enjoy origination either.

yes, you need to watch the prequel called "hidan no aria"

preferably more than once because it's a hard series to fully understand

only after you can understand aria the origination

I watched the first two episodes of Origination and I understood fuck all. Instead of viewing the first two seasons as backwatching you should look at Origination as being a satisfying end to the journey.

Listen.

Skipping the first two seasons and automatically starting the third is both pointless and borderline stupid. I'm not calling you stupid, but don't just watch a season for the heck of it since its popular.

The feels won't be the same without watching the first two and Aria is meant to be a journey. Anybody who tells you to skip the first two is forever ruining the experience for you no matter what they say to justify it.

Yes watch ANIMATION and NATURAL as well as all the ovas and specials before that before ORIGINATION.

I've seen so many people who just watch ORIGINATION without the first two seasons....
