D Frag meta humor

I am just curious as I am really unexperienced in this particular medium. But I have heard it been said that Anime in particular is lazy or just not very good with Meta humor. So, asking people who would know better than I, how would you say the Meta was handled in D-Frag.

I for one think that it hit more than it missed. I that the show putting words on screen to tell the audience that certain people were minor characters was unnecessary and distracting. But I think that most of the other ones were pretty funny, like characters groaning about entering an expository flashback, people interrupting their own flashbacks, although I can't recall the name, but the previous President's friend who was an Otaku's inability to harm anyone who sounded like they could voice anime and the subsequent breakdown of the Dub Vs Sub debate was pretty shocking to me at least.

Personally though Although I didn't know what it meant at first, I thought the "Sorry, Sweetheart, I'm not in to Moe." was pretty funny... until I actually had to look up what Moe meant, then it was hilarious.
