| falls between "aesthetically interesting but nothing else" to "disgusting." i don't think it should be banned at all but i do find it uncomfortable to imagine the target audience for some of it. there are some that are definitely higher quality - maruo for example - and a lot that are more fetishistic and i find that side weird. still shouldn't be banned but probably not the fetish i'd want in my close friends. |

| Lol is this because of the comment section? I honestly don't get the full appeal of guro. Violence has its place, yes, and exploitation films thrived off of it. For it to become a fetish is something that brings up concerning questions, but anything can be a fetish for someone. Some kinks can be done in real life, but others can't--vore for example. Those are the ones that, since they can't be done to anyone, get a pass. It's weird, but as long as no one gets hurt, let someone get off to whatever they want until it becomes illegal (but people will still get off to that anyway). A fetish like guro could happen in real life, however, thus why it's personally worrisome. I've never met anyone in real life with this fetish, and I honestly don't want to, even if they're completely normal otherwise. Of course, then again, I'm one of those people who would prefer a plot with porn, so if something is practically guro, but has a story/some kind of message to it, I could easily overlook it, or if there's some strange enjoyment out of it, I may find myself intrigued with it. The only things I can think of where I enjoyed the violence as much as I did with the rest of it was the When They Cry series, Another, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and Elfen Lied to an extent. But that's as far as it's gone. |

| I don't mind gore, if it maximizes the impact of something precious that is lost. But it must have some sense to produce effect. Not being edgelord crap handled as maturely as one pits action figures against others. Otherwise, gore anime is just a modern manifestation of the "Garbage Pail Kids". Shock factor is indissociable of social commentary. It must be congruent with overall aim to hold some significance. Excess in both good and bad things is never fine. If one series make secondary characters die like rabbit at the hunt's opening whereas the main cast are plot armored like motherfuckers, I won't care. If death is made banal by its over representation, I won't care. If characters are one dimensional blood thirsty fiends so that public get inane fanservice, I won't care. If it's all geared towards emo tweens who think all of this make for depth, my eyes will roll. As for someone who has goru as fetish, I don't want him anywhere close to me at a 30 miles radius. |

| Honestly it's pretty much the one thing I can never tolerate. Like people can get off to whatever weird shit they want to as far as I'm concerned, not like it affects me in any way, but if you actually get excited by seeing blood and guts spread everywhere then you've seriously got some psychopathic elements in your head. I would never want to be near anyone who liked that kind of thing in real life. I would feel legitimately worried for my own safety if so |

| Gore is the best fanservice and way better than Sexual Fanservice to me, they fit better in OVA but they won't work well on TV series because of censorship even it's aired on late night timeslot. |
