Why only 8 eps!?!? I understand the series is over going the manga but why just 8 eps? It would be smarter to wait for more material then release another 25 ep season... I was hyped so this sucks ass (.-.

I think it is caused by the difficulty in securing the broadcasting time frame... Though the original comic still hasn't catch up with the anime, there is a novel series that the comic is based on,so there is plenty of material.

In the comment by a staff, he stated that they will depict the events which they first planned to skip if this season wasn't 8 episodes in total. I think they decided to delay the finale to season3. To think positively, we can watch the whole events in the story without being skipped thanks to the short season!

Saw this as well. And if I remember correctly the 1st season didn't even get as far as the old OVA (even though it hat a lot of episodes). Maybe they just want to finish the remaining stuff until to the point that the old OVA reached.

And then later make another full season.

If that's the case, then I wish these eight episodes had been included in the first season, so that we could've gotten a more robust second season.

People sometimes don't make sense. That also applies to anime companies and the people working there.

Well I'm just glad there's another season . Nanatsu no taizai airs at the same time as arslan in summer and it's only 4 episodes .

I think there could be a mistake there. Sinbad was told to be 8 episodes too, and then we got full 13 ep season

I'm surprised we're getting this at all to be honest. The sales in Japan were rather lacklustre and just look at the number of views here in MAL.

Every bit I get makes me a happy camper.

Really ? According to a recent japanese poll, arslan senki was most anticipated, also the latest novel volume was doing well .

Really?! Well that's surprising. There seems to be a disconnect between that poll and the actual sales. As far as I can remember Arslan Senki's first volume sold around 2000 copies. Not a bad number, but nothing that assures you automatically a second season.

BD sales are of no importance for Arslan. What matters are TV ratings and novel sales boost and both of them were good.

As for the topic - 1 cour is more than enough. There's no need to go to the second part of the novels yet. Yes, it will be a little rushed, but it should be able cover the ending of the first part of the novels.

i got so sad when i saw here that there will be only 8 episodes =/. It's one of the only shows that i'm desperate to see more seasons.

Let's hope this season 2 can be as good as the first to expect more things in the future.

Ah, and the novel is going to finish any time soon?

If they are covering things they would not normally covered, I am actually in favor of this. It could be worse, the other show in this scheduling term got 3 episodes, and they both have to make way for Gundam IBO (which I'm also anticipating). If there are going to be 3 seasons, the more the merrier.

Agreed, but I am hoping for a 3rd season that will continue things, rather than just stopping here

Isn't this based of a load of books rather than a manga?

It was originally released in 1986, so there defiently enough material. hopefully.

I rather 8 episodes than nothing, taking in count that they continue.

Anyone knows if this it's faithfull to the novels? I like very much the story of the anime and seeing that the manga it's still in a earlier status i wonder that.

Sorry for my fast english.

I heard that it's basic storyline is faithful to the novel, judging from the 1st episode. However, as the novel is so long and too complicated to adopt into anime with limited episodes, some events are skipped or changed.

For example, in the novel, followings are different from s2 ep1 of anime.

this is what I heard...
