Instead of having a lot of confusing storylines from the visual novel, they'd just stick with the last two episodes and create an animated drama film in vain of Studio Ghibli's works and just make it be about a neglectful guardian and a socially awkward girl try to make most of the latter's limited time on Earth after finding out Misuzu is dying and develop a bond. To simplify things, Misuzu's illness is simply a form of cancer brought on naturally rather than a curse. Doo ou think this type of abridgement would take away the charm of the original story? PS. Lets say that if they actually went with that plan that give the Summer Arc a separate, standalone adaptation, which would eventually evolve into Angel Beats! :D
