Also known as 'Beyond the Grave', Brandon is a necrolyzer who serves Millennion. He is merely a loan shark in the organization due to his loss of arm and leg; however, being a necrolyzer, he possesses monstrous strength and durability. Having worked as a Millennion hitman for almost a decade, he is also very skilled with guns. With those abilities, whenever something gets too dire for Millennion's enforcers to resolve and poses a threat to the organization, he will handle the case by himself.
Mika Asagi (Main):
Child of Big Daddy, Brandon's former boss in Millennion, and Maria, Brandon's ex-girlfriend, Mika is a fourteen-year-old girl who comes into Brandon's care after her parents' deaths. Because Brandon has always given his all to protect her, she often thinks of returning the favor, such as being a substitute for his lost arm. She is highly protective of Brandon, both physically and emotionally. Mika fares much better in the latter.
Biscoe (Supporting):
Biscoe is an old man who leads Millennion after overthrowing the tyrannical Harry. He does whatever it takes to protect Millennion, although a few of his choices haven't been the best. His most notable error is the prosthetic leg incident with Brandon, which he has yet to forget about.
Norton (Supporting):
Norton is Biscoe's second-in-command after Harry's fall. He assists Biscoe in various tasks, especially when Biscoe has left the office to resolve other matters.
Additional Characters:
Dr. William Rutherford (Supporting):
William is a doctor in Millennion who is re-hired to the organization during Biscoe's rebellion against Harry. Because Brandon, like every necrolyzed being in Billion, needs the renewal therapy to stay alive, he mainly serves as Brandon's caretaker.
Sara Goh (Original, Supporting):
Sara is a gentle old lady. After being saved from the hellhound by Brandon, she quickly befriends the necrolyzer and his little protege. She is Charles' mother, and her son's sudden disappearance worries her.
Dr. Charles Goh (Original, Main):
Charles is a general practitioner at a clinic in Billion. Formerly a scientist in Millennion, he has a remarkable knowledge about necrolyzation technology. He hates Brandon deeply due to the necrolyzer causing him to lose his job and get a severe cut in his wage, which prevent him from achieving his dream: having a happy family. It is worsened due to the fact that Brandon destroys his workplace out of his personal vendetta towards Harry, which makes Charles consider Brandon as just a heartless, vengeful necrolyzer.
Gilbert (Original, Supporting):
Gilbert is a civilian in Billion. His life changes once he meets Charles, who offers him some necrolyzation serum to help him get his revenge done on Brandon.
Arnold Hayes (Original, Supporting):
A man of Millennion, Arnold is Brandon's and Mika's faithful driver.

Thanks! Btw, can I use your illus as the cover once it's done? I plan to use it at fanfiction.net, and for the chapter scene illus, I plan to use them at deviantart (and AO3; seems like it allows users to add images into the story).
That sure is an awesome cover! The color is especially great. Since now I can look at it more thoroughly now...
1. The color of the guns. Brandon wields the red and the white simultaneously, so I think best if you keep the color red and white.
2. Charles' head feels too big?
So I only read two chapters, but I figured I should write my thoughts before my brain shuts down for the night.
Since this is a fanfic, the writing style is inevitably different from an original work, ain't it? -w- I don't know Gungrave, but I feel like I need to watch it in order to understand what's going on here. If you want it to do better as a stand-alone, I'd suggest clarifying the storyworld a little bit. I mean, yes, it's important to open with some form of tension (BELIEVE me, I know), but for some reason, I imagined the first scene in a 1930's setting. I have NO idea why, now that I think about it; why would a parking lot even exist in the 30's, lol.
But back to my point, yeah, since I'm not familiar with this series, I don't know who Brandon or Mika is. I don't know anyone's relationships with each other so just saying their names wasn't enough for me. I honestly thought Mika was his wife or something until the grocery shopping thing. And on that topic, you have a really elegant writing style, so that was the most elegant shopping trip I've ever read. (y) But yeah, once again, because I don't know this storyworld, I don't know why they're casually grocery shopping when crazy killer dogs are on the loose. I mean, I guess it's the calm before the storm, sure, but I didn't think a serious work like this would have an SoL-like moment. It was a nice touch for an SoL fan like me, but I worry that that became a source of criticism for you.
I don't know if I have a character limit but since I like to ramble, I'll cut this short by saying I like the foil Mika serves. Brandon clearly has a lot of thoughts so it's good that she exists to simplify the direction in his life a bit. But because of that, I smell SO MANY death flags, like good God, I'm terrified. Crushing dog heads was already too gorey for me, like whoa.
@kazane2: Thanks for taking your time to review. :) Uh, character limit exists? I'm not even aware of that! But really, be as rambly as possible.
Good point about the lack of clarification of the setting and Brandon's and Mika's relationship. I'll find a way to edit those in (after finishing my case report). Thanks for the note!
As for the SoL, I think it's been a bad habit of mine. It often stems from my attempt to show the duality of Brandon's character: the enforcer and the homebody.
