 During the Tenipuri Festa 2016 on October 16, 2016, it was announced that a new Tennis no Oujisama movie project is in production. The movie will feature an original story that takes place during the three months between the first manga and its currently running sequel. The original creator of the franchise Takeshi Konomi will be serving as the executive producer of the new movie project. The first Tennis no Oujisama manga serialized in the Weekly Shounen Jump magazine from July 1999 to March 2008 with 42 compiled volumes published by Shueisha. It received a 178-episode TV anime that aired between Fall 2001 and Winter 2005, various OVA series, a live-action film and a Chinese live-action drama. A sequel manga has been serializing in the Jump Square magazine since March 2009, which also received a TV anime in Winter 2012 and a 10-episode OVA series that ran from October 2014 to June 2015. | As much as I like Prince of Tennix, the movies are an abomination. They have gone too far with the supernatural thing now, that it no longer is entertaining. I know that in the 'Shin' series, it gets ridiculous, but still not on the movie level. Then, if they're gonna make a movie, why not have it take place during the 'Shin' series, instead of having it during the empty period between the first series and the new series. I'll still watch it though. XD |
