I've read the New Game manga and watched the anime and the point that they stopped at was the most logical point in the manga for the anime to adapt up to. I would guess Working would be a similar situation. The last OVA wasn't even adapted from the manga so it is most likely a "gecko ending" meaning that it artificially gives the anime a good anime even though it wasn't exactly that great a time in the manga to stop. OreImo gave the first season a good ending and then had to make another episode to show the real version of it when they made a new season (don't quote me on this since I'm probably incorrect in their reasons for doing this).
