Here you can state your favorite yuri anime.
I'll start.
Kannazuki no Miko
Kannazuki no Miko
Kannazuki no Miko
(No, seriously, its like one of the only yuri anime I've watched where they actually kiss and it isn't only annoying implied subtext. It's also the first yuri anime I ever watched and one I hold all other yuri anime up to.)
I also really like Blue Drop despite only getting a disambiguous possible maybe a kiss. I thought the relationship between the MCs was really sweet and I liked the plot despite all the gaping plotholes.
Yuri Kuma Arashi(My only gripes are how confusing and weird the first 3 episodes were and how depressing the tone of the entire anime was. However, it did have a unique and interesting plot and it is the second yuri I watched where the girls actually kiss each other.)
Re: Cutie Honey ( I didn't like the first episode of this OVA, but by episode 2 I was hooked. I shipped Honey and the cop lady so hard and then in the last episode, they actually kiss, so it became more than subtext and that made me so happy.)
Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid (This has a surprisingly good plot and likable characters for being a borderline hentai ecchi.)
In general, I like sci-fi, fantasy, and action yuri, which isn't surprising since that's the kind of anime I like in general, yuri or not.
Some other anime I enjoyed but that were sadly only subtext, borderline, or only had yuri side characters were:
Akuma no Riddle(Only subtext sadly, depsite being tagged Shoujo Ai and having a very yuri looking opening sequence.)
Ga-Rei Zero (Borderline. One fan service scene with a pocky "kiss", but one of the girls involved is in love with and engaged to a man and her and the MC see each more as sisters, despite not being blood related.)
Kill la Kill (Not really much yuri in this one unless you count weird mother-daughter incest fan (dis)service and a single kiss between the main character and her best friend. I do, however, ship MC with Satsuki, despite it not being canon and a reveal about their relationship to each other that would be too spoilery to elaborate on. )
Shattered Angels(This anime has characters that are essentially Chikane and Himeko's reincarnation and they kiss several times throughout the show. Sadly, however, they are only side characters with not much screen time. There's also one or two short fan service scenes between the MC and an "Angel" named Setsuna, but its only fan service since both are in love with the main guy, Kyoshiro.)
Mikagura School Suite(Well, the main character is a huge lesbian, so that's a plus. XD However, she never actually gets in a real relationship with a girl. All we get is her perverted fantasy and daydreams about doing things to the other girls at the school, most of whom aren't interested in her. Well, and scenes from a lesbian dating sim that she plays. Still would've been nice had she got with her crush though instead of it only being possibly one-sided subtext between the two.)
Rin: Daughters of Mesomyne( This did have yuri in it, but it was all physical with no romance. However, the plot was really interesting.)
ICE( This one did have yuri, but again, it was all physical, and any actual romance was either one-sided, just subtext, or both.)
When Marnie Was There (Not technically yuri since the reveal at the end kind of spoils any romantic intentions, but it's still some mighty fine queerbaiting. If dancing together and going on a moonlight rowboat ride together aren't romantic, then I don't know what is. I still say the ending was only used to pull a "no homo" so Studio Ghibli could avoid the controversy of essentially creating a lesbian romance movie. Needless to say, I still ship Marnie and Anna in spite of the ending reveal, which I'm just gonna blissfully pretend never happened.)
Canaan( I love the story. Sure, it had some plotholes, but the theme was interesting. Plus Maria was adorable and Canaan and Alphard were so badass, plus Alphard was super sexy. The subtext between Canaan and Maria was also very, very strong, which was a huge plus.)
Simoun( Well, this show was interesting, but the whole gender-bending thing was kind of strange and I wish some of the yuri ships had gone further. Most of the characters either ended the romance once they chose a gender or the person they were in love with chose to be male while they chose to be female, so the relationships either became hetero or fizzled out in the end, which was kind of annoying, but other than that, it was an interesting story.)
