Here we can play a game to guess the yuri anime.

How it works:
The first person posts a screenshot from a yuri anime.

The person who guesses the anime correctly, gets to post the next anime screenshot.

And so on.

The only rule is that it must be an anime on our club relations list.

I'll start:
Guess this anime:

Don't pay any attention to the text. Its not relevant to the anime as that isn't the title of it.

Harmony! ^^
(The novel is one of my all time favorites. The anime doesn't completely do it justice, but I still liked it!)

Been watching a good amount of this lately! Depressing as hell, but I can at least smile a bit at the melodrama.

Onee-sama e aka Brother, Dear Brother

Hint: It's an OVA. The character in the subs name is in the title.

Re: Cutie Honey! Actually my second favorite Cutie Honey series, the first being New (Shin) Cutie Honey because of that lesbian jeweller episode. (^///^)b

El Cazador de la Bruja

Been meaning to watch that series, but I'm still trying to make it through Noir. I hope it gets better. I'm currently on episode 9 and its kind of boring. I'm wondering if I should just drop Noir and try El Cazador instead or try to finish Noir hoping it gets better and then start El Cazador.

I've only seen Re:Cutie Honey. Are the other series good? Do they have any yuri in them at all?

Canaan! I wanted to get into that since I like girls with guns (and I actually like Noir, even though it's really slow), but then I learned it's Type-Moon and their stuff usually tends to not be very newbie-friendly, involving a lot of convoluted backstories and plotlines in each entry.

Ah well.

As for Cutie Honey? Well, the entire franchise has some form of lesbian element associated with it, since it's a campy sexual comedy. So oftentimes the lesbian characters are villains or comic relief. If that's not your cup of tea, I understand, but I personally have a lot of fun with it.

For example, my favorite episode in the entire franchise is New Cutie Honey episode 2, which stars evil lesbian jewel princess who collects naked women and turns them into statues. So, she pretty much has my dream job. :P

Another favorite is in the manga when Natsuko (her dorm-mate in the original) informs Honey that absolutely EVERYONE in their all-girls school fell in love with her at first sight. Cutie Honey is such a fun franchise, if you're into comedies.

As for the game:

Canaan is really good. There's some plotholes that aren't cleared up without readiing about the prequel video game its based on, but other than that, it's a pretty good story. It has very, very strong subtext between Canaan and Maria and the villianess Alphard is super hot. XD I reccomend giving it a watch even if the plot can be somewhat confusing sometimes because it still mostly makes sense. Also, its only 13 episodes long, so you could probably watch it in like 2 or 3 days at most.

Oh, wow. Naked women statues. That sounds both hilarious and sexy. Lol. XD I'll have to watch that ep when Kissanime website comes back up.

Speaking of Natsuko, is Re: Cutie Honey, the only one where her and Honey have a relationship or is there any subtext atleast at all between them in the other series?

As for the anime screenshot, I'm not 100% sure, but is it Devilman Lady aka Devil Lady?
(If you say yes that it is, then I'll post another screenshot to continue the game once you confirm if my answer is right.)

I'll keep that in mind! Gotta slow my anime watching for now, as I still have finals, though. Plus a few series that I still need to finish. ^^

I love Jewel Princess a LOT, haha. Her episode is pretty hot, not going to lie! The way she lusts after Honey....<3
KissAnime is back up, so please let me know what you think! :D

I don't remember much of Natsuko, but the Go Nagai wiki does mention how much of a lesbian she is all the time, so I'm guessing there IS that subtext that's still there. Honestly, I don't blame her at all. Honey is...well, Honey. Haha. She doesn't have a happy ending, though. :(

And yes, that's Devil Lady! I'm enjoying it a bit--there's just something about a tragedy involving people who can transform into beasts that just....gets me. So to see a lesbian version of that is gold.

Good luck on finals.

I haven't had a chance to watch it yet cause I've been busy with work, but I'll try to watch it tomorrow.

Awesome. Sounds like I would like her in the other series too. No happy ending though? :( In Re: Cutie Honey, it had a happy ending for her.

Devil Lady sounds interesting, but I'm kind of hesitant to try it because I heard its a tragedy. I've seen too many yuri with unhappy endings. It's even become a thing on tv tropes called the "Kill Your Lesbians/Bury Your Gays" trope it happens so often. :/

For the game:

Hints: It's sci-fi. It's tagged as Shoujo Ai here on MAL. It's about characters who are from a planet where everyone is born female and they have to choose a gender when they become adults.

Aand I'm done with finals! Man, that was a drag...Never again am I going to stall on writing my final papers. (Probably will, though.) But hey! My course load for the next term is going to be super easy: Italian 3, Spanish 1, intro anthropology, German fairy tales, and a course on anime. Yes, an actual course on anime. If that isn't an easy A, I dunno what is. 😛

And yeah, I know the trope. It's unfortunate, but I also really like gay tragedies?

Plus, ever since I was a kid I was very much into tragedies and horror stories about people with curses that turn them into monsters (really liked Castlevania :P), but they also have a lot of emotional vulnerability.

So it was kind of a huge deal for me to find, of all things, an anime about that topic that happens to be about femme lesbians! Plus it's written by one of my favorite writers, Chiaki Konaka. So Devil Lady just feels like it was made for me!

As for the game, that's Simoun! That's my friend's favorite anime, but I never really got all that much into it. ^^;; The setting is pretty interesting, though!

@AlisLandale
Sorry for the late reply. Holidays were keeping me busy. I believe that that is Aoi Hana.

^
I haven't seen this one yet, but its definitely in my plan-to-watch-in-the-very-near-future list since it combiines two of my favorite things which is both supernatural themes and yuri.

As for your college, wow, sounds really interesting. I wish that I could take courses of anime and fairy tales.

I do admit that the whole star-crossed lovers type plots whether dealing with gay or het couples, can be kind of romantic and interesting in a way. Romeo and Juliet type stories always get to me. It's just a little annoying when pretty much every single fictional lesbian story is a drama about star-crossed lovers that ends in tragedy. I think the reason why its so powerful in het romance, is because those kind of stories aren't that common since they get a lot more romance novels with happy endings. However, lesbian and gay romances almost always end in tragedy to the point where it just become kind of cliche and frustrating like its saying that gays/lesbians can never be happy or together, you know?

I can relate to really liking supernatural stuff too. Horror I can get into as long as its not too scary. Lol. XD

Yeah, Simoun was alright, but it kind of feels like it was lacking something. Plus, I'm still a little salty that Neviril
, that Mamiina
, that one of the most romantic and canon relationships involved a loli dating a much older woman, which made me kind of uncomfortable even though I liked both characters and thought they were cute together, and that Waporif who was one of the hottest women in the show,

Wow, uh, sorry for the late reply, but I went to Cuba! It's really weird to go from Obama to Castro to Trump, but at least I'm here in one piece! orz
School also started up for me, and my first anime class should be this Friday. I'm hyped--Takeda-sensei seems really nice!

Yep, that's Aoi Hana! And you posted Madoka Magica! But, Madoka is a HUGE tragedy. I actually am avoiding watching Rebellion, because something horrible happens to my favorite character, and...yeah. I'm kind of avoiding the franchise cause it's really depressing for me. I watched it during a formative time in my life and...it's changed me a lot. Made me sadder and gayer, but also taught me about love and how far I can really go for someone. For better or worse. orz. Still think it's really awesome, though, and as a Russian I really appreciate that the witches are inspired by Russian animation.

Still, there's something about gay women that is connected to tragedy. I don't know exactly what, but it's a common theme in stuff made by and for gay women, too. At least, that's what I noticed when I read lesbian English-language comics when I was younger--and some manga I've read, too.

For some reason, I love horror, but I'm also really squeamish and can't stand the sight of realistic blood on a screen (though I don't mind seeing blood irl). I can watch horror anime and horror games and read about all sorts of terrible crimes, but I can't sit through The Shining. That's life, I suppose. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As for the game:

This was the anime that made me gay. Can you believe I used to be a massive homophobe? Then I watched this...and I thought "wow, this is real and not just some weird perverted thing? girls can love girls?" And the rest is history. (^^)

Could the screenshot be from "Bloom Into You"?

I'll continue with a fairly easy-to-guess image I think:
