I will admit that I am making this topic for selfish reasons (those reasons being that I am looking for new anime to watch) but I feel that this could create some decent conversation.

Basically Name one of your favorite romance animes and tell us why it left an impression on you. If you can, try avoid obvious answers such as Clannad as it is amazing and everyone knows this lol

I will go ahead and kick this off with my own answer.

One of my favorite romance animes was Suzuka. This anime, I feel, nailed typical high school relationship troubles which made it very relatable, at least for me. This anime got my into the romance genre and I haven't looked back since.

I look forward to hearing what you guys have to say :)

Well first of all I think the main or key point of a romance anime is characterization (personalities and development of the characters) and since I can't choose one favorite I just picked 2.

White Album 2 - This was an anime that greatly excels at it's characterization. The anime dived deeply into the characters lives and the reason why they have certain personalities. It is a bit slow paced and the style is narrative (it does not explain the events in a characters personal point of view) but really nailed other aspects such as its soundtrack.

Hantsuki - Now this one, although only have a handful of episodes and the plot isn't a really over the top type one, succeeded in portraying a good romance story. It doesn't leave you any questions as the story is rather simple and every episode or event rather has some relevance to the main characters and how they will develop. Also the conversations between the MC's are the strongest point of this anime (I think)

Warning: Both are bittersweet romance stories (peace)

Crest of the stars - Same principle applies in both the anime I'm about to mention. A large portion of the anime is nothing more than throwaway conversations between the two leads. I don't even like space stuff but the character focus and development in this show was bang on.

Spice And Wolf - Was my favourite until I saw crest of the stars. Pretty common answer I guess but Holo really is one of the best characters going imo and the banter between the two mcs carries the show in spite of literally nothing happening 90% of the time

You've watched all the main ones I'd recommend apart from Plastic memories, you could give that a go?

One of my favorite romance anime has to either be Aku no Hana or Akatsuki no Yona. I highly recommend both of these series, but if you want a more psychological romance anime, choose Aku no Hana. If you want a light-hearted and adventurous romance, watch Akatsuki no Yona. The bad thing about these two is that their anime end in an unfinished, as if there's supposed to be a sequel. The mangas are still continued though.

The thing I may like the most about both series is that it doesn't focus entirely on the romance and fits in elements of drama, adventure, and anticipation. Both series also have wonderful soundtracks ( Aku no Hana's music has more of a creepy feel and Akatsuki no Yona has beautiful music )

I hope this helped!
