| John Wick 2 was very inferior to the first. They tried to introduce too many new elements into this "assassins" world. They had too many sub villains and the main villain was not nearly as compelling as the father/ son duo in the first. You have to suspend your disbelief in the first movie, but this is just ridiculous. Not a bad movie but doesn't hold a candle to the first. 5.5/10 |

Do you not understand? I'll explain it. There is the main villain of the film, Santino, then there are all the other villains, or "bad guys" Wick faces off against. Ruby rose, common, all the assassins that try to collect his bounty were terrible. You can call them whatever you want, one term would be a sub-villain. It's no where near the first. It's a product of the director amplifying what he thought people liked in the first film and instead burying everything that made it actually good. It's exactly why Guardians 2 will suck. |

| The first movie suffered a little bit from a generic story with poor-ish plotting, but it got away with that because the point was to tell a simple revenge story. This one expanded the lore that was merely hinted at in the original and went all-out with a story that goes to ever-higher stakes, but... the movie is still all about John Wick himself and his inability to move on from revenge or killing. He doesn't emote much, and he barely speaks, but there's just so much there. And, like all good sequels, it amplifies the main character's flaws and ends on an extreme low note. The third movie is going to be absolutely insane, and I'm not sure if it can top the hall of mirrors scene at all. |

| I just got it on blu ray and finally gave it a watch and I rally dug it. This one served as more as a world-building film, and maybe the body count wasn't as impressive, but I loved this one just as much if not more than the original. The final mirror fight was fucking incredible. I'd say solid 9. |
