A.C.G.T is probably out of the question, since they have practically been an ecchi factory in recent years. My first guess would be Shaft or J.C Staff, as shaft adapted the sequel movie in 2007 and J.C since they could produce a sufficient art style. What do you guys think? Are you excited or skeptical for this new adaptation?

It's actually really hard to tell. Shaft is definitely an option because of the reason you provided and they might have the capacities since Kizu is finished now. J.C Staff might also be a possibility but I wouldn't rule out White Fox or maybe even MAPPA either.

Looking at how much MAPPA has planned, it seems difficult for them to add this on the list as well, however nice that would be.

I would want Shaft the most, but I have a feeling they might not considering it has been 10 whole years since they made only one movie that was only 30 minutes long. Well let's hope that they do and they work their Shaft charm as usual.

Anyone else think think that this will be Production IG again? XD

Similarly to MAPPA, I.G has taken up a lot of works recently. I am willing to believe that they (sadly) can't take up Kino as well, if they are planning on releasing it this year. I also don't know if I.G picks up these projects very often at all, they mostly have their focus on shounen titles at the moment.

Yeah Mappa is good, but they are still new to the anime insiders and lack the ability to do metaphorical symbolism. I would much rather Studio Shaft, the very studio who made it's name on using symbolism and meaning in animation and art, and one of my favorite studios of all time, to do it instead of the newbie Mappa.

Maybe A.C.G.T. could work with J.C. Staff, they have 2 anime in their belt working together. (Fuuun Ishin Dai☆Shogun and Minami Kamakura this season... lolz.)

I'd say J.C Staff or Shaft. Or some surprise studio, which could end up being either a bad thing or a good thing.

Don't think it will come out this year, but in 2018.
