Why I had to take a break from Fuuka (Manga/Anime)

So a couple of days ago whilst browsing my app looking for something to read I was recommended a mange called Fuuka and after reading the description thought "Yeah looks right up my alley!" and found myself semi regretting this choice within the same day...

I found myself almost instantly begin drawn into the characters, how they interacted with each other and their day to day existence and was looking forward to reading the next chapter in the series.

*Spoilers...kinda...yeah if you're reading this you probably know but still spoilers of some kind so I'll hide the rest in a spoilers box!*

So there I was enjoying the series when Chapter 36 came...Oh chapter 36...if I was to express how this chapter made me feel it would simply be shock and disbelief as I witnessed Fuuka being taken out by a truck and the final image of her laying there burned onto my brain with the comment "....wait what the hell!?"

Chapter 37 then threw me through a loop as I'm greeted by Yuu 'waiting' for Fuuka on a swing so I instantly went to "Oh right so this must be a couple of month have passed or something and she's recovered!" until I see the funeral scene...I've never been so in denial at a manga in my entire time of reading (which is quite a while and while I cannot remember each one by name I remember the experience...and they're saved in my history) and found myself continuing the experience chapter after chapter in hope that it would be revealed SURPRISE Fuuka's fine! Sadly my hope were dashed aside when Yuu climbs the ladder and finds the roof empty in chapter 39 and I came to the realisation she was in fact dead.

I struggled to continue reading but did and got hit by the next shock...A SECOND FUUKA! (commonly know as Fuuka #2 or Red Head Fuuka) and it was at this point my brain started to slowly smoke and fry. Finally after reading Chapter 59 I decided to take a break from the manga and let my mind settle.

A couple of days later me and my friend were talking, as we do, about what we're reading and what not and Fuuka came up since I needed to vent slightly but the reply I got REALLY caught me off guard. "Oh you thought that was a shock? Try the anime!" Anime? There was a damn ANIME!? Sure enough after having a look I found it and thought "Meh screw it my brain isn't damaged enough yet LET'S REALLY DESTROY IT!

Needless to say the whole coma trip was enough to overload me and finish my confusion off in a neat little bow.

However all this left me with more questions then I wanted. I found myself questioning the manga vs the anime and even looking deeper into it. My denial wasn't about to let me give up on either of them. I started putting the question forward to myself "Is Fuuka REALLY dead in the manga?" and then wondering will the manga take the coma twist at some point. It...seems possible...right? Maybe Fuuka will reappear at some point and explain why she's still alive to a very disturbed Yuu. It still boggles my brain and it is because of this I'm STILL in my hiatus from the series and am currently enjoying Jitsu Wa Watashi Wa.

So yeah this is what's going on with me and this series and if you have anything to add feel free to do so :)

Nope, she's dead, buddy. Like, legit pushing up those animu flowers.

But if you really wan to know hw the anime will fair, well let's just say that you may be happy or disappointed at the outcome.

I know but I like to hold onto hope that chapter 50 is that shock, horror reveal Ruuka's in a hospital bed in some coma just like the anime, which I'm coming to terms with the fact it won't be the case.

For me it's the devastation it causes which took me by surprise in the end, since I never saw it coming due to the mangas I normally read don't go that way, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it once my denial passes :)

I did yes, mentioned it in the first topic, and even though the topics old thank you for replying :)

I will say i STILL haven't got back round to Fuuka lol so many mangas to read and since I tend to read ongoing series I end up having to "catch up" all the time >.<
