Shizu's father's past is quite disturbing and no wonder why he resents Shinobu-san who actually bought him from his biological parents who were suffering from poverty.

And the person who changed Shizu's father was the love of his life — Sanae-san. Their first encounter and growing closer with time were nicely captured in the manga within few pages! He just couldn't bear to see Sanae-san suffering because of Shizu's condition. I still consider him to be cruel father.

How could he lock Sanae-san up and was about to drag Shizu to the hospital? He didn't even care whether he was physically abusing his own daughter. He even almost beat up Tetsu for trying to protect Shizu.

I was fearing the worst when Shizu and her father slipped their footings around the staircase but Sanae-san manages to break down the door and catch Shizu.

I hope this whole situation opens Shizu's father's eyes. How can someone be so cruel to their own daughter?

The biggest development of this chapter was when Shinobu-san revealed that his time for parting with Shizu is perhaps coming up. I sense that the manga is coming to an end within the next few chapters.

A husband that confines his own wife.

Looks like he stopped caring and loving Shizu the moment she caused trouble for Sanae.
For him, he doesn't have a family anymore. Looks like he doesn't really see Shizu as his daughter and would always choose Sanaes "happiness" over having Shizu as a daughter. And in his eyes that happiness could be achieved by making Shizu disappear.

His upbringing, hatred for his grandfather (? They said he was a distant relative.) and his found happiness with Sanae doesn't really explain why he would hate his own daughter that much.
I mean, every child gives their parents a more or less hard time at some point. Okay, Shizu gives them a harder time compared to others. But he clearly couldn't cope with that and thus isn't fit to be a father at all.

If one were to disappear from that family, it had to be the father.

Shizu's father's Past. Actually makes sense. On why he resents Shinobu-san.
And also. I hope he gets over his hatred for his daughter.
