 The official website of Yami Shibai announced on Friday that the short anime series will receive a fifth season, scheduled to air on TV Tokyo in July 2017. Staff and cast members were also announced.The fifth season will seek to create "girls' style horror," featuring scripts written by female writers. The writers include stage play actresses Yuuko Ichiki and Satoko Kishino, as well as occult storyteller Ayako Yamaguchi. That's why people are hating on this right now. The first season was great (in my opinion). Second season wasn't as good. Third and fourth season got worse and worse. The constant, unnecessary narration and the live action scenes in season four are why I hate on it. It has gone from a rating of 7.21 in the first season down to a 5.47 in the fourth. |

| I mean I'm fine with this, I don't know why are so many people butthurt, true the stories are not that scary, but I doubt they're even supposed to be, its more like children's stuff, plus we're getting some unique show. Really glad about S5. |

And goosebumps was also children stuff and most of the stories were legit scary, so that argument can't be used. |

| ...I can't believe I'm giving this another chance, but I really want to check it out because of the scripts written by female writers. I doubt that a change of gender will improve anything, but I need proof of that statement by actually watching it! For real though, after this one, no more chances-- including works of similar nature by the same directors (Sekai no Yami Zukan). |
