 This year's August issue of Ichijinsha's Comic REX magazine announced on Tuesday that Eri Takenashi's Kannagi (Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens) manga will end in two chapters. The final chapter will be published in the September issue of the magazine on July 27.Kannagi has been serialized in Comic REX since December 2005, though the series was on hiatus from the January 2009 to the August 2011 issues of the magazine due to Takenashi's illness. Ichijinsha will publish the 12th and last volume, as well as an official fan book on July 27. A 13-episode TV anime adaptation by A-1 Pictures aired in Fall 2008. Bandai Entertainment licensed both the anime and manga series for North American distribution and released two volumes of the anime and four volumes of the manga before going defunct in 2012.
