Is it just me, or is the MAL score gradually increasing?

Because it seems like the score is increasing, and I want it to increase, because it deserves a higher score, and greater popularity.

Scores while airing are pretty much meaningless.

It a shame very few seem to be watching this anime, fantasy comedy at its finest. Konosuba has nothing on it.

Hopefully this gets an 8.00 or more (because this series doesn't deserve less than that) so it gets more popular.
I'd say it deserves at least more that Classroom of the Elite, because Mahoujin Guruguru is without question better than Classroom of the Elite.

Even though I like Konosuba I strongly agree with you too.
Stometimes I have problems with the Konosuba's comedy (specially Darkness) but Guru Guru comedy feels organic and I rarely had that feeling.

Something that triggers me is that Konosuba was watched by a huge amount of people when Guru Guru 2017 only by a small group. I'll blame the Aqua's ass.

I think the scores are increasing bit by bit with GuruGuru. But honestly this is pretty much, and highly underrated as hell. It pretty much brings this old artstyle to a fresh new look and not only that it feels like genuinely from the old shows (I know the manga is from those years but still, not a lot of series does that these days).

While you both might be right regarding Konosuba and pandering, I personally believe the new Guru guru didn't attract viewers because it's a reboot of an obscure (in the West) anime. [compare with Kino reboot]

The manga is huge in Japan, but I only know of one person who watched the old Guru guru, and he told me the pacing is terrible and from what I gather from ep 30 onwards it becomes original, meaning the quality probably decreases.

You need to wait until it ends , the scores of airing shows are unbalanced

I really feel the pacing is perfect, the jokes have the correct duration to make you laugh and not become annoying. This show feels organic but yeah, I agree with you, It's weird to see people who have watched the old show. in Latin America many remember it, but it wasn't that popular. Was renamed Caballeros de Kodai here (Knights of Kodai) and Nike was the "mister knight" xD.

About the old show:
Yeah, the pacing is slowier and when they tried to adapt things they were very faithful, sometimes the scenes looked like perfect copies of the manga pages.
BUT, when the old show was airing the manga was still ongoing, so they added a lot of filler gags (just like Gayl&Ena), filler episodes and filler scenes during arcs.
Post episode 31 the old show goes full anime original.

Doki Doki Densetsu adapts
Pretty faithful, although they censor scenes to make it more child friendly, but the characters are less expressive.

About the remake, they cut a lot of things (Some things are adapted in Guru Guru chibi theater https://myanimelist.net/anime/35909/Guruguru_Petit_Anime_Gekijou?q=mahoujin%20guru%20guru), but the direction is excellent, although they remove some jokes, the remained ones are 3 times more funny, the characters are more expressive and managed to maintain the spirit of the series without being a carbon copy of the original source(even some scenes would say that the improvement). It is noted that in the studio they loves this.

The only ting i miss is that some heartwarming scenes are rushed (for example the training tower arc).

Mahoujin Guruguru is ranked 1351
Hitorijime my hero is ranked 1349

Mahoujin Guruguru is so close, it's frustrating.

The score has been increasing of around 0.02 points every single episode since the start, when this started the score was lower than 7.15

Usually the score changes during the airing are recorded into this club, but they didn't keep track of Mahoujin cause it had less than 2000 members before airing, and look at it now: 11,860 members (but still only 6,152 watching)
A shame they didn't keep track of this, since it had a constant increase since the start, something which is usually seen as positive comparing different shows with more unstable score changes.

Had it started with a more solid member base it could have grown more by now, shows starting with around 20k or 30k can more easily increase once the show turns out being good, but it started from basically zero, and still got a good increase in both score and members.

@Tenderizer17
The score increase is visible from here too
