By reading the interview, I finally feel like I can put some hope for the remake since its actually directing by one of Lotgh fan who actually knows why the old one was good :D Character designs (on the remake) sure looks awkward, but hey the old one looked awkward too until we got used to it. This is very important thing to check out imo before watching the show.

So the it’s not a remake and just a re-adaptation of the novels. And the director seems to like what everyone else liked about the old one.
Hopefully the LoGH elitists will stop conplaining now. Still hilarious how stupid people can be. Hating on it before it even comes out, lol

I haven't watched the original, but i really can't understand the hate the new adaptation seems to get. The first trailer looks great, and the director is very, very passionate about this project. The character designs aren't bad aswell, they are just way more modern than the old ones.

If it was a remake of the old one, they would remake it with the old anime as the source. But they’re re-adapting it from the novels. Every person interprets the novel in their own way. And as the new director is adapting the novels and not remaking the old series, he will interpret the Novels in his own way and add is own twists. Just like the old series director did.
