| Let's have a discussion on general things that make him an unlikable and bad character, shall we? I think a good place to start is how he takes the comedy in the show to the lowest level possible. It's such a low-hanging "ahaha lol he is such a pervert wow" gag and that makes up almost his entire character. He's about the worst comic relief character imaginable. Also, how annoying his lack of respect to the female characters is. They are supposed to be valued protagonists and yet we have Mineta perving at them every time they get screen time? They should be seen as respectable and cool just like the male characters, but then thanks to Mineta it's just constant reminders of their bodies and how that's the main thing that matters about them. It's out of place in My Hero Academia. There are also other things to mention like how he doesn't suit being a hero at all. |
| aside from the fact that the "pervert!!!" trope is extremely overdone in shounen anime, Mineta is just...well..annoying. his quirk isn't interesting enough to make up for his terrible character. he doesn't contribute anything useful and wastes screen time that could be used for other supporting characters that actually deserve it (and he's ugly) |
