| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Well since the end chapter count includes 120 normal chapters, 2 ending chapters and 3 side chapters lets let this discussion be for the third side chapter; #41.5, Gravity Angel. This chapter was a simple art-book showing off Himiko in sexy poses and clothing. I think I got the chapter count wrong I didn't know that chapters 118, 119 & 120 for the light version were different. So let this be the discussion for chapter 120 (light): Escape. |

| I only read the Light final volume. Hard to believe that all this drama, and murder happened in only 8 days. Felt like they were on the island for several months to at least a year. What happened to Iida? Did he have to undergo a sex change and get loved long and hard by that wealthy pervert? |

| Oda was such a one note + obtuse character the author should have left him out of the final part of the manga. Went from "I'm gonna save my mom" to "I felt humiliated that a girl talked to me to get closer to you, so I trained for years, learned to street fight, slept with the girl you liked and now will proceed to kill you because you're an awful person and still deserve to die" very quickly. Genuinely such an unrealistic and silly backstory for the last battle. And how does one butcher a character so badly after a great initial appearance. Apart from this my opinions on light and dark endings are largely the same as posted on the original ending forum. Manga's a solid 8/10 DESPITE the awful characterization of oda lol |

| Two separate endings made for a unique finish. The "Dark" ending had more of a tragic impact on the main characters on a personal level, but also took many advantages away from the antagonists; while the "Light" ending spared all the main characters, but left the antagonists still at large. The juxtaposition there was quite smart, especially since they didn't go for any extremes in either an optimistic or pessimistic direction. |

| I read the Dark ending and honestly thought it was the Light one lol. I mean other than Sakamoto dying, everything else seems to come together? The villains get what they deserve, Himiko fights for her ideals, she's heartbroken, obiously, but hopeful for future, becoming part of a team that'll be fighting bad guys in the future. Honesly pretty cool. As for the Light ending, it was nice Sakamoto and Himiko succeeding with Sakamoto reuniting with his family and getting another chance in life... didn't make me feel that many things though, so dunno. It was fine I guess. I like how in both volumes Oda has different motivation for his inferiority complex, and both are just childish and shitty xD I feel bad that author couldn't think of ANY more rational reason all this time. Oda honesly could have gotten some more interesting character development after all this time. If anything, this series was pretty fun, but way too long. Shouldn't have lasted AT MOST like 20 volumes, would have been way more than enough. Because of milking the last arc so much, it really doesn't feel that all these people spent 8 days on this island, more like a few months. Near the end I was pretty bored because of all these drones, military guys, forced plot twist, blah blah blah. Shame, because the first like 10 volumes were fun and edgy enough, I enjoyed them a lot more! 6.5/10 |

| Aside from the oda justification of doing it with aiko with his beef towards the MC and the very stretched, overly dragged military and combat scenes towards the final chapters, it was a good manga and had a really good flavor to the characters. Interesting choice of ending as well. The main couple had a good chemistry and paired well together in the good ending, though i like both endings anyway even if they are also lacking |
