Well time to review how I did this season and by the lookings of it, not that bad. I said Pep was too strong at the beginning of the season and apparently 1 point too strong. Spurs still got into the Top 4, they like Arsenal, were just shitting the bed the last 5 games of the season. Which put Chelsea into the top-4 instead.
Mourinho had a worse season then I thought and it happened too early in the season where the new manager charm wore off for ManU as they finish bottom of the top 4. Unfortunately Wolves finished 7th with all the money they are putting into that team. Spend 300-400 million pounds and maybe they'll be Top-6, or QPR. I'd hope for the second option.
Everton finished where I predicted, I didn't feel they'd be 7th this season. They got a few more ties than some other teams. I predicted a 4 spot drop in the table for Leichester and they kept their position after all. They even had a positive goal differential. They lost Mahrez but they can still score and they can still defend.
West Ham had a terrible start to the season but was able to bounce back to 10th. 5 points off 7th that I predicted. I still liked their off-season and if they were able to gel better at the beginning of the season then they could of been in my projected spot. Watford finished 1 spot above my predictions. Could of even been better but with loses to Wolves and West Ham at the end of season. They deserve to be where they are.
Crystal Palace did two spots better than predicted. Beating Arsenal, Cardiff, and Bournemouth at the end of the season helps that. 10 Goals and 10 assists for Zaha, first time he has done the individual double. Can they still keep him though? Newcastle finishes 13th, they still have Mike Ashley, but Rafa Benitez might want to move on if the team isn't sold or he has no budget again.
A 14th place Bournemouth does not make me feel good about the future of this club. Something needs to make me confident about them next season or I might put they as relegation candidates. Burnley...my god what happened. One of the best defenses in the Premier League last season and a -23 goal differential. Is Sean Dyche a fraud? Well he has another season to show us if he has it to be a good coach or not.
Southampton frustratingly stayed up, they were the team i wanted to go down, will see what happens this transfer window. More sales? or maybe it is time to spend big to stay in the Prem. Brighton and Hove Albion made a lot of changes last season but so did West Ham and sometimes things just don't click. But they found a way to stay up by 2 points. Do they do the same thing or maybe just a few additions this off-season?
I think 95% of football fans wanted Cardiff to stay up because of Sala's tragic death because ultimately if he lived so could Cardiff's Prem Life. But life isn't like that sadly. Sala did pass away and so did Cardiff in the Prem. Fulham has to be the biggest disappointment of the season. How did everything go so wrong when business wise we thought it would go so right. Maybe it was the coaching or maybe the front office isn't as good as we thought. Next season it is back to the Championship and will see if they can get back for a second try under the Khan Dynasty. Huddersfield Town came to terms with their fate before the season started with barely making any changes to the team. Take the Prem money for another season and hopefully it is enough to invest back into the club through players or infrastructure and not into the pockets of the owners.
Spot wise I only had 3 right but last year I had 0 XD. So it is an improvement for me. |
