TV Anime 'Bakumatsu' Gets Sequel

Upon the final broadcast on Friday, it was announced that Bakumatsu TV anime will get a second season. It will broadcast in 2019.

Bakumatsu is based on the otome game Renai Bakumatsu Kareshi: Toki no Kanata de Hanasaku Koi, which launched in March 2017 via Furyu. The TV anime aired from October 5 to December 21. A Blu-ray disc consisting of all 12 episodes will be released on February 27, 2019. Public recording for the radio show will be held on March 15, 2019 with the hosts Tsubasa Yonaga (Souji Okita) and Toshiyuki Someya (Toshizou Hijikata).

I dont see any point watching it.

Also i think it targets Shoujo with Shounen Ai Genre.

They have some top VA but i dont exactly know the story, but its historical and samurai.

It's ok. The story seems to be completely different from the game and targeting a different audience. It is interesting seeing the protagonists try to outmanuever a villain who can reset time at the press of a button. The main protagonist likes to go in guns blazing, but has adjust his "strategy" as any progress he makes can be easily undone. The secondary protagonist is more intellectual but still a highly competent swordsman, and episodes that focus on him are some of the better ones.

While the premise of the show is great, if not a little wacky, the execution leaves much to be desired. There are quite a few extraneous characters that just waste screentime. Also, there are so many story threads happening at the same time that it can get confusing. It's also difficult to care for all these characters and their problems. Finally, a majority of the action and fighting scenes are static and boring.

The main story and cast are interesting enough, but I would only recommend this middling series if you had nothing else to watch. There are much better shows that came out this season alone.

Worst news of the year. There is many show that deserve 2nd season, but we get one for this horrible anime. I'm hopping that goblin slayer get 2nd season

I'm happy there's more Bakumatsu I really enjoyed. I'm curious how they will "return time to its proper flow" and if Hijikata will play a big role. I still wish Bakumatsu Rock S2 will happen. Deen please.

It targets female viewers and those who play the mobile game and are familiar with these characters. Anime is another and original story with no heroine but two male leads. Funny if this was all-female cast no one would argue its genres as Shounen or Shoujo Ai or even trash it like a habit @thepath always does.

Well I'll be watching, the first half of the 1st season was average at best but the second half was pretty good.
There really isn't any Fujoshi bait as well, the characters are pretty serious with each other.
