Was it to save Mayuri who got lost in time or something?!!! well lucky you, i found this comment 3 years late but it's still something. you know the message that was sent to okabe in the original steins gate episode 23? that was the 0 okabe. he recorded the message, jumped to an unknown timeline, and most likely died along with mayuri and suzuha. he had to do that for a few different reasons. 1. he had promised to go back for them 2. if he didn't go, he would switch with the original okabe when the message reaches him due to reading steiner. meaning he would switch with the okabe in the end of the original steins gate in the year 2036. 3. acording to the time line he had to die in that day. simular to the mayuri situation. but if he didn't exist in that time, it would be the same as him being dead. so with jumping to the past, he decevied the future/fate for the second time. the first time being the end of original steins gate. if this ending alone doesn't prove steins gate is a masterpiece idk what does. |
