At first, reigen saw the spirit in Episode 1 and used salt on it. But after that, he couldn't see spirits such as Dimple. What's the deal with reigen?

Some show themselves to humans and some don't, I think. The other two he was with, could see that spirit as well.

I suspect he may have very minor psychic abilities and they may or may not have to do with his proximity to Mob, but its unclear. I know the show suggests your emotional state is directly related to your abilities and as time passes we see more cracks in Reigen's public persona. Either he's a total dud and serves as a parallel to the esprs, or he's a key in revealing how it all works. perhaps both? Maybe neither? Interestingly ambiguous, huh?
