----------------------------------------
This went into a direction I didn't expect. But firstly, the 1997 flashback was nicely sandwiched within the context of both Seki and Yamashiro thinking about when they first met and smoking. I suppose we can thank Amano for Yamashiro’s knowledge of this game, and his understanding of the yakuza. Even back when he was starting the company he laid out the rules and got Seki for way cheaper. And offering Seki what he needed. If he didn't think that Yamashiro was fit to lead then bite back at him. It also tied back to Seki’s farewell. Yamashiro invited Seki asking him to carry the torch of Burst, and when he left Burst he said he’d “carried the torch of Burst for 6 years. It was one hell of a festival”. Of course we must consider that Seki has always had problems with Yamashiro, in the beginning he called him a sly raccoon, saying he’s changed, he challenges him, and here Yamashiro dropped him without faith. But, that’s not enough for this to be real is it? No way. I’m still waiting for his triumphant return. It has to come, right?? It was nice that we got to see how Seki revelled in the fights back when he joined, he’s always been that kind of guy.

Taki responded to Moriken saying his injury was “just the same thing again”. Who can do that to him other than the Toraikai? It had to be them, right? We last saw him with Hayama, threatening him, but I can't imagine that came as a result of Hayama. Further, he says Toraikai has allowed Burst to stand in Yokohama. Whatever happened off-screen it's a huge deal, it seems Yamashiro won favour with them. Burst is not just moving girls from Shinjuku to Yokohama, they are scouting on the street in a way that wasn't possible when Team Tatsuhiko first came here. We never got to see what Alice, Koji, and Tatsuhiko were up to, not yet at least, that could contribute. And as suggested, Yamashiro may have seriously gotten through to the Toraikai, they may have found out about Taki’s plans and beat him up a little. This leading to Burst having a win in time for New Years so to speak.

It's also notable that Soga and Ide got Tori’s store up and running, Seki’s promise was fulfilled. I love seeing their little fist bump, even if I would have liked more of an acknowledgement over their conflict, it’s nice to see how far they've come.

There are too many loose ends and information we’re lacking to call this a win just yet. “Three nine” attacking Shinjuku shows Wizard’s made a move there too. Taki was intending to crush Burst, but perhaps the iron triangle has lost its connection to the yakuza. We have no clue what’s going on with Tatsuhiko’s group. Seki is still MIA. There’s a lot still up in the air. I’m confused by this move being accepted like it’s been, I’m definitely intrigued. Did Taki not suspect Yamashiro going to meet with Tasaka?
