i heard from manga readers that the anime skipped most of the arcs, if that's true then i'm going to read the source material and drop the anime.

Indeed, the manga is much better than the anime. Not only its art style is more consistent, but the execution of the story is also better than the anime. The skipped content are two arcs from the manga.

A quick heads up for the manga is that the characters there are more fleshed out and feel a lot more real than in the anime. The two skipped arcs were important for the character development of certain characters and they also add more depth to them.

Also, if you're planning to read the manga, might as well start with Chapter 1, so you can forget about the anime and start fresh on the manga.

While the manga does have some more details about the characters and other whatnots, the anime adaption is still good and enjoyable in it's own way while still manage to stay faithful to the original manga in some way.And most anime adaptions of some popular mangas do rearrange/cut a few scenes to fit the pacing. To be frank, some of the manga scenes looks better when you see it animated tbh and I'm really satisfy with it.Some of the manga readers I've met so far enjoy watching the anime

As for the animation goofs(it only happen a few times though, admit it even the best animes have one of those moments),I'm pretty sure they'll fix it in blu-ray version

I highly suggest you to stick around watching the anime first then read the manga and please avoid spoilers-

yes .. please read the manga if you can. the anime is alright but as you said they have skipped a few arcs and rushed others to fit within their 12 episode limit. besides, the animation is pretty lacking and can be stiff, mouths dont line up w/ their lines etc. the manga is GORGEOUS, it's got some of the prettiest art i've seen in a manga.

the manga has extremely pretty art, i mean just about every other panel is worthy to make of a profile picture.

some of the manga panels focus on different things than the anime, so a scene could appear more creepy or intimidating.

please read manga, it's honestly so worth it.

Yeah read the manga like seriously the adaptation is so shit. They literally skipped two whole ass arcs which had a lot of important development for the characters. Next episode preview already made it clear they're not going back to animate the skipped arcs.

It's still an enjoyable anime (don't know what the haters' problems are) volume 1 is exactly the same as episodes 1-4. I mean EXACTLY the same.

I went scanning through the manga (Didn't feel like reading something I've recently watched.)

From me quickly scanning it, the only thing that visually came across as a scene I don't recall seeing was in chapter 9. Does strike me as a piece I question why they left it out.

I saw people commenting like there were major parts skipped before this and I figured they were talking about like entire chapters skipped over ahahah.
But my assumption is it seems like the studio must've just left out certain parts of dialog that people must've felt would've maybe added to a few scenes?

That's my impression from not reading the manga anyhow.

So because of that I'm not feeling like I'm missing out on too much from the manga. I prefer the art in the anime myself though so I think I'll watch the anime, and if I need to relive moments later on will consider reading the manga.

I like both. The anime skipped and rearanged some things but for good reason. Its only 12 episodes and they needed to provide some closure. I think if we get a season 2 they will adapt the arcs they skipped. I recomend enjoying the anime and reading the manga. So you get both experiences.
