| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Mm, more focus on Iris this episode. At least they're making it clear that her role as a queen is important in this show. Our main character looks like he's trying to make a bigger name for himself in a competition. I have to say, he's quite daring for facing any level of competition without fear. |

| The girl before becoming the king of light, w. that short hair girl. They have full of imagination on the previous king w. no worries. They are in good terms and not fight just because both are candidates. The brothers are in good term w. main girl, too. Meaning to be a king... That darkness attack even before she became king, and she fought it alone. Competition for the dark princes. Oh, that guy in the bar is one of other candidates. After the competition, he and main guy left for the match. The opponent grew up w. no one helping him, so he believes help is no need, while main guy only fight to help. Main guy won. Though the second in place can get to go with him (as a mission is given to the winner and second in place). Two main characters finally meeting next. |

| The half and half structure of the episodes is kinda jarring. When yami goes to the white kingdom next week that should be over. Overall, didn’t really feel like much happened this episode other than some background for white queen and hammering in more of Yami’s desire for peace Next episode should really get things going |

| So far this series gives off prime "Angtsy teen winged dark and angelic figures" vibes which I'm personally fine with. Is not particularly special but I am enjoying and intrigued by aspects of it. |

| While romance isn't listed as a tag. I do get the feeling there will be something going on between the potential king of darkness, and the queen of light. Show is getting better at least. |

| I think if the pacing was slowed a bit and the world building focused on, this show could have real stakes in regards to a succession. Oh well, as we know that isn't the primary focus on the anime. We just finished the warmup. |

| Those fight were terrible, I think the only good scene was during the prince cut the lion he's assign to. Hopefully, this shit never happen again because I'm only watching this one for the fantasy setting and some flashy animation(if doable) |

| NGL the 1st half was boring, only requiring a strand of hair to realize that the White "Juliet" Queen Iris is curse-struck. Instead, the 2nd half with the Black "Romeo" Prince of Darkness, his journey of ascending the ranks is just getting started. And those battles are as advertised: terrible, and with no tension at all. Oh well, it's time for both characters to meet up, sooner or later. |

| The first part was really boring, the next one also wasn't that interesting, but it was nice to see the prince of darkness ideals. Let's hope things get better |

| as much as this show is kinda meh rn, I have to admit, the OST is absolutely amazing. I really like some of the tracks used, really gives that fantasy medieval feeling |

| I had completely written this show off after episodes 1&2, but this episode was actually pretty good. I don't know what happened, but the writing got better, they actually let the characters have some light-hearted fun moments and humanlike personalities instead of just stiffly narrating their titles and motivations and powers, there weren't any jarring fades or cuts or tone shifts like in the first two episodes, there were significantly less compositing errors and background-art errors, and they actually had some nice quiet scene-setting moments to just breathe and let the atmosphere wash over you. This feels like a completely different show than it did last week. This has to be a different director or something, because this just went from a borderline-unwatchable show to one I'm actually planning on watching more of. I hope the tone of this episode continues and we don't ever go back to whatever the hell they were doing in episodes 1&2. (It's also possible that because this episode was less elaborate and therefore required less ambitious animation efforts than episodes 1&2, they were actually able to spend more time on things instead of being overwhelmed by the sheer volume.) |

| Iris flashback. Still, i completely lost on that part why she could be the next queen. Phious liked Iris, but only got an unrequited love. Such a shame because her fate was together with our unknown MC. The MC battles was ashamed and so low quality. They just dumbfounded and act like a NPC till the end. I can't feel anything, yet, the outcome felt easy to predicted. No matched for the MC one, because, why bother? Shit. Oh, well! Next! |

| Looks like the successor has been chosen even though it was already obvious that the MC would be the guy to win. I wonder if those who lost will serve him and if that Adel guy would become something like his right hand or something. |
