It escalated quickly after the last episode. And we still can't trust the city though

Still seems a bit weird how nonchalant the family acts after losing their dad like that(not counting the emotional outburst) Maybe it's indeed not the right time to grieve, but Haruo did. Brutal flashback of his mother getting crushed, I probably would've struggled with eating the curry.

And now a cult-esque society, oh boy, after the attempted rape last episode I can't help but expect a shitshow xD

Fourth episode in, I still think it's pretty good.

So they meet a foreigner from England, and they show that the mom is Filipino, from Cebu. Makes sense with her skin color, I knew that she couldn't be from America or something. Though no one really says "Cebu Island" here and just calls it "Cebu", but I that's how people abroad say it? Lol

Oh god, they're in a cult(?) now. I've watched Midsommar a few weeks back, so I'm kinda scared as to what will happen to them. Though I was kinda anticipating this part because I've read the first paragraph of the review that's already here. My mistake.

After so many adventures, rest seems to be deserved. The new characters seem a bit cliché : the racist old man, the Japan fanboy gaijin (I hope he is not otaku, please) ...

Daniel's intervention was a bit ridiculous, tbh

So we got a racist grandpa as the latest addition to the cast lol. Also weird how they're eating weed curry at a cult now.

It sure is different from Yuasa's last Netflix series, but I'm definitely finishing this.

Wtf? The racist old man shoots the kid (apparently for some retarded reason) and then goes all friendly-grandpa mode?! And the gang accepts his food and sleeps soundly at night in his store!

Then they pick up some random foreigner who's your typical cliche "gaijin"
And now they end up in a cultist city of some sort? Is this show for real?
Funny thing though, just like this grandpa, I'm actually surprised how few Japanese we meet in freaking Japan!
Oh, the racist grandpa is also a drug addict. Is this "Japan sinks" or "US thinks"? I would be offended with the depiction of Japan/Japanese in this show, if i were Japanese.

This show basically pushes every freaking post-apocalypse cliches possible. rapists, cultist...we haven't yet met bandits though, or rogue military.

I won't be surprised if aliens show up towards the end, or we find out the quake was caused by some covert Illuminati faction who allied with China and conspired against Japan - instead of all this being a natural disaster.

I've had enough anguish for one day. This episode was hard to watch with the obvious red flags the moment they entered the cultist city or whatever. My heart can't take anymore so I will resume this tomorrow.

Sadly that Go was not die, yet. That old man felt worried over Go and decided to helped the family. It seems everything gonna be smooth on this episode. A bit boring by actually realise that nothing happened rather seeing another strange people from England and knewing Ayumu's mother was a pinay. Hmm, the city kinda felt a weird aura, and the cliffhanger made everything to even stranger. I wonder, why they just tried to go to the port, or a harbor, or something else? They seems lost on that wild land, i was not gonna lied. Atleast Ayumu felt a less annoying than before. So its okay strange for me.

Meh ... it's really starting to get worse. Suddenly that "Shan City" appearing. Seeming totally undamaged. And those weird guys ...probably worshipping that statue.

I hope they are leaving soon. But I fear they might use the full next episode on that and only leave the episode after that ha ha.

Edit: Also some gay looking weird English clown. :D

Kind of weird they started to trust grandpa so easily after he almost killed Go last episode. Not sure what to think of Daniel as he seems like a stereotypical 'gaijin'.
Pretty selfsufficient place they arrived at, but I got a pretty eerie feeling from it especially considering they were eating weed curry (◔_◔)

at least racist Grandpa stopped the kid talking in that ridiculous engrish. That was grating stuff.

This is a weird series.

Yeah If I were to write it in Romaji, it’d be “Sebu tou.” The word island can be read as “shima” or “tou” (島) in Japanese :)

So we're going to ignore the group they were with in the first episode or so? Noted. Also grandpa chill out because they weren't trying to steal anything. he made up for it by fixing his game and you learn a little about him. He is a good dude. Also he is xenophobic and not racist. I know you think the series sucks.(I read your other psots.). But I know you are entitled your opinion....but man your takes on this show are r/woosh material.

That's the artstyle of the show my friend. I have seen art like this before. Not everything needs to look like Demon Slayer or Kill la Kill.

Xenophobic gramps was kind enough to fix Gamer boy's console despite almost killing him. You can tell the grandpa likes Go. He was protective of him when the earthquake began. Gramps reminds me of Clint Eastwood in the movie Gran Torino. In Japan, there are people who are xenophobic and those who are racists. However, Gramps is more xenophobic being from the countryside and all. Usually it's the older generation like my grandma when she was younger, she didn't meet foreigners until she started to travel because of her father's job.

He couldn't tell that Mari was Filipino or non-Japanese just by looking at her. Southeast Asians tend to be more tanned. There are those from Okinawa and some of Osaka who are also more tanned but I'm guessing Mari looks like a tanned Japanese native which is why gramps didn't question her.

Wait, Kite isn't a foreigner? I thought this entire time he was a foreigner. LOL I thought he was a white guy Youtuber living in Japan!

Anyway, now they're stuck with a cult, seems like Gramps was right. They shouldn't have picked up Daniel. They fed them WEED CURRY! LOL Where can I join? By the way, for people who don't know, there are many religious cults in Japan, South Korea, China, Philippines, etc. The actress who played Touka in the live action of Tokyo Ghoul, Fumika Shimizu, quit showbiz to join a cult.

Go seems to be the only one who cares about his father's fate. Anyway, did he survive somehow? A similar guy, but with beard, was in that infirmary bed. That accident with digging up a bomb happened a while ago, so it's technically possible to grow such a long beard.

Man, as far as I know post-apocalyptic shows, that city to which they arrived is either a dangerous cult or society of cannibals. Hell, or even both, lol.

Obligatory Doomsday Cult approaching. The old man is the best character so far, even if he makes no sense whatsoever.

Your cellphone can't measure the tilt of the Earth. It's relative to itself. How is Shan City not sinking? Daniel is super cringey. I was happy when the old man told the son to stop speaking English.

Get out of my store, or I'll kill you!
I've abandoned my vantage point because I didn't mean to hurt you, now I'm your surrogate grandfather.

Stay here. There's acid rain outside.
We have to leave because Japan is sinking!
The world is ending, so don't smoke in the car!
This map isn't 100% accurate, so I'll throw it away. I can totally navigate us to a place I've never been without it.

Let's help out a strange man with a teddy bear, surely this won't backfire.
It's cool. We're all eating weed curry, while grandpa detoxes alone in his truck.

Sexy cougar lady's getting ready to replenish the Soylent green. Who wants to bet that the plan D lottery is only for rich people? I mean 4 boats for all of Japan? Pretty freaking obvious.

They're trying to redeem the mom through the Xenophobic old man. She's still awful. Koge is the only sane person apparently. The daughter's foot somehow hasn't healed at all. I mean I get that she's walking a lot but still. It would be more believable if it were swollen and infected. Why didn't she get medical treatment again? At any point in the story?

So they have entered a cult? Also it's weird how little grievance there has been over their dad and friend. Neet kid crying was touching tho. But ya this is a pretty weird turn. It's been like a week maybe 2 since the EQ hit, yeah? Was this cult always around or did it seriously pop up this fast after the majority of Japan was wiped out. Old dude seemed to know he could get his drugs here so it was always probably a bit sketch of a place. Also no crazy cliff hanger this episode.

We learned so much in this ep. Everything feels so random. Now we’ve entered into a cult arc and grandpa’s a junky. What’s with putting weed in food? It probably tastes awful, especially without the high. Isn’t Japan like super anti-weed? And, oh god no, MORE english. Japan is literally collapsing and they stop to sleep? Drive all night, sheesh.
