This was where Shimamura and I became friends. We hung out here―talking about TV shows and cooking, playing some ping pong... This is where we fostered our friendship. Keeping my head propped against the wall, I let out a small sigh. What was this feeling? Yesterday, I'd dreamt of me and Shimamura kissing. Not that I'm like that. I'm sure Shimamura isn’t either. It’s not even something worth repeating myself about, but really, it’s not like that. It's just that when she hears the word "friend," I want her to think of me first. That's all. Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? Bloom  Third season of Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka. Inu to Neko Docchi mo Katteru to Mainichi Tanoshii  Matsumoto-san owns an innocent dog and an adorably devious cat. Laughing and crying ensue as they all live daily life together. Iwa Kakeru!: Sport Climbing Girls  Konomi Kasahara, a junior high school girl, has made a big name after winning numerous competitive puzzle game tournaments. The story begins when she finds a sports climbing club in her high school. Using special skills other than that of puzzle games, Kasahara becomes fascinated with climbing. Kamisama ni Natta Hi  At the end of the last summer vacation of high school, Youta Narukami spends his days preparing for the university entrance exams, when a young girl named Hina suddenly appears, proclaiming herself as the "god of omniscience." Youta is confused and does not believe Hina when she tells him "The world will end in 30 days." After witnessing Hina's God-like predictive ability, Youta begins to believe her powers are real. Hina, who is innocent and childlike despite her supernatural powers, decides for some reason to stay at Youta's home. Thus begins the start of their lively summer before the end of the world. Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko  Ryouma Takebayashi dies in his sleep at the age of 39 after leading a life of misfortune. Taking pity on him, three deities offer him the chance to reincarnate in a world of magic where he has only one mission: to be himself and enjoy life. They bestow upon Ryouma powerful physical abilities as well as the affinity to master all elements, and promise to watch over him. His new life as a young child officially starts when he is teleported into a forest. Three years go by. Having spent most of his time researching slimes, Ryouma has managed to evolve unique kinds of slimes, training an army of them while developing his magic abilities. Although the young boy is happy with his hermit existence and comfortable cave home, he somewhat misses the company of humans. But after healing an injured member of a passing group of travelers from a duke's household, Ryouma is persuaded to go with them and exit the forest accompanied by his menagerie of slimes. Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear  Fifteen-year-old Yuna prefers staying home and obsessively playing her favorite VRMMO to doing anything else, including going to school. When a strange new update gives her a one-of-a-kind bear outfit that comes with overpowered abilities, Yuna is torn: the outfit is unbearably cute, but too embarrassing to wear in-game. But then she suddenly finds herself transported into the world of the game, facing down monsters and magic for real, and the bear suit becomes the best weapon she has! Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai  The third installment of the Love Live franchise, focusing on the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. Maesetsu!  The anime centers on four girls at the full bloom of their youth, working hard to achieve their dreams as they struggle valiantly. In Japanese entertainment, Maesetsu! refers to an introductory talk or explanation addressed to the audience before the broadcast of television programs, usually performed by assistant directors and particularly comedians in variety or comedy shows. Majo no Tabitabi  Once upon a time, there was a witch named Elaina, who set off on a journey across the world. Along the way, she would meet all kinds of people, from a country full of witches to a giant in love with his own muscles—but with each meeting, Elaina would become a small part of their story, and her own world would get a little bit bigger. Maoujou de Oyasumi  Sshhh! Princess Syalis is trying to get a good night's sleep. Some shut-eye. Forty winks. Catch some Z's. Long ago in olden times when people and demons lived together in—well, disharmony, really—a demon king kidnaps a human princess and imprisons her in his castle. Ochikobore Fruit Tart  Fourth dormitory of the Rat Production (commonly known as Nezumi-sou)—the place where dropout idol girls live: the former child actor Sekino Roko, musician Nukui Hayu, and model Maehara Nina. Sakura Ino, who always dreamed of becoming an idol, moves in. At the same time, the decision is made to demolish the dormitory. Due to the project launched by the manager Kajino Hoho, "Ochikobore Fruit Tart," occupants of the dormitory form a new idol group called "Fruit Tart" and start their activities in order to repay a one hundred million yen debt. One Room Third Season  Third season of One Room. Osomatsu-san 3rd Season  Third season of Osomatsu-san. Rail Romanesque  Set in Hinomoto, a fictional version of Japan, where for a long time railway travel served as the most important form of transport. Each locomotive was paired with a humanoid control module, so-called Raillord, that aided the train operator. However, many rail lines had been discontinued due to the rising popularity of 'aerocrafts,' a safe and convenient aerial mode of transport. As such, their accompanying railroads also went into a deep sleep. Soutetsu had lost his entire family in a rail accident and was adopted into the Migita household, which runs a shochu brewery in the city of Ohitoyo. He returned to his hometown to save it from the potential water pollution that would occur if they accepted the proposal to build an aerocraft factory nearby. He woke up the Raillord Hachiroku by accident and became her owner. For different purposes, they agreed to help find her lost locomotive, with the help of his stepsister Hibiki, the town’s mayor and local railway chief, Paulette and others. Tonikaku Kawaii  Having grown up ridiculed for his bizarre name, Nasa Yuzaki strives to be remembered for something more. Fortunately, it seems he's on the right path, ranking first in the nation's mock exams and set to enter his high school of choice. However, everything changes in a single night when he notices a girl across the street on his way home. Enraptured by her overwhelming cuteness, it's love at first sight for Nasa. But in his infatuated daze, he fails to notice the approaching danger speeding down the road and finds himself at death's door. Barely alive thanks to the girl's intervention, Nasa musters the courage to confess his love to her, fearing she might otherwise vanish from his life. Movies Dounika Naru Hibi  A collection of short stories that take a refreshing and humorous look at the sexual relationships between young people in Japan. Josee to Tora to Sakana-tachi  A youth romantic drama with themes of growing up, the story focuses on college student Tsuneo and dreamer Josee, who lives her life stuck in a wheelchair. Josee—named after the heroine in Françoise Sagan's Wonderful Clouds—spends most of her days reading and painting until by chance she encounters Tsuneo, and decides it's time to face the real world. Umibe no Étranger  "There's nothing wrong with liking another guy." To be in the arms of the person I love... I thought that was an unattainable dream... On an island off the coast of Okinawa, two young men meet on a beach. Shun Hashimoto is gay and aspires to be a novelist. He is interested in Mio Chibana, a somber high school student, and starts to flirt with him. Day by day, the two of them grow closer, but then, suddenly, Mio decides to leave the island. Three years later, Mio returns and approaches Shun with the words, "I've thought about it for the past three years. I like you, Shun, even if you're a guy." However, when faced with the prospect of finally becoming lovers with Mio, Shun cannot take the first step towards commitment. This is a tantalizing love story about a gay novelist and a younger part-time worker. Violet Evergarden Movie  An original sequel to the TV anime which aired in 2018, the movie will follow "auto memory doll" Violet, still unable to forget about her former employer Gilbert, who taught her of love. One day, she meets his older brother Dietfried, who tells her that she should forget about Gilbert and move on - but it is impossible for her. Shortly after, Violet receives a call from a young client, while the post office discovers a letter with no address sitting in their warehouse. Wave!!: Surfing Yappe!!  Masaki Hinaoka, who grew up near the coast of Ooarai in Ibaraki Prefecture, meets a prince-like transfer student Shou Akitsuki before the summer break, who introduces him to the world of surfing. Through surfing, Masaki meets irreplaceable friends and experiences farewell as he becomes an adult. It is the beginning of a never-ending story of boys fascinated by the charm of surfing. |

Will watch, high expectations: kuma kuma kuma kuma kuma kuma kuma bear Will watch, moderate expectations: ochikobore fruit tart, tonikaku kawaii, maesetsu Will watch, not expecting a ton: climbing girls, gochiusa 3: the gochiusaning, one room 3 thankfully not gochiusas Kill Me: love live will watch if screencaps are promising: rail romanesque, kamitachi, kamisama, maoujou, tabitabi (i will almost assuredly watch at least three of these even if the screencaps aren't promising let's be real) |

| Watching: High expectations: * Adachi to Shimamura: apparently we're promised some forbidden girls love. I'm interessed already. * Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? S3: As long Rize does typical Rize things like beng cute even when she wants to act all sturdy and cool, I'm satisfied. * Maesetsu!: Look's like the most CGDCT anime for the season by judging on the cover and because it's from Studio Gokumi. Medium expectations: * Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai: It's Love Live! No need to have high expectactions. Just enjoy some cute anime girls become school idols! * Ochikobore Fruit Tart: Minna tomodachi! Minna aidoru! Now with added flavor I guess? * Iwa Kakeru!: Sport Climbing Girls: I swear it, I'm only watching it for the plot. Low expectations: * Rail Romanesque: Since it's confirmed to be a TV short (less than 15 mins), it might be most likely just 'eh' like most TV shorts do for me. * One Room S3: My low TV short expectations plus my assumption it's going to be probably again some more POV cringe like previous installments. Oh noes~ * Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear: Not really a big fan of the whole main charather is OP in isekai setting thing. Atleast we're following a cute girl in a bear costume. * Tonikaku Kawaii: I can explain why I might not like this, but most people would not understand it afterall. Undecided: * Kamisama ni Natta Hi * Majo no Tabitabi Why you're not adding Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (2020)? It's comfy enough at certain times, since you actually see some cute anime girls doing cute things and fun Slice of Life elements. Trust me on this one. We have quantity indeed as including holdovers I'm watching 31 things airing weekly. Good news is on the comfy and cute front we've got quality along for the ride this season too! Will watch, high expectations: kuma kuma kuma kuma kuma kuma kuma bear Not everybody's cup of tea, was alright first ep, I find the female lead very cute. Will watch, moderate expectations: ochikobore fruit tart, tonikaku kawaii, maesetsu Fruit Tart ep 1 greatly exceeded expectations, maesetsu is more of an acquired taste than I expected it to be but I personally liked it. Tonikaku kawaii had a rough start among people I follow on the interwebs, I thought it was about what I expected - I'm not going to tell you "omg it gets better later!" because it really stays like this, though an expanded cast and associated larger amounts of character interactions is always welcome. Will watch, not expecting a ton: climbing girls, gochiusa 3: the gochiusaning, one room 3 thankfully not gochiusas Kill Me: love live Climbing Girls was also about what I expected, taking things a tad more seriously than I would have hoped. Gochiusa had a rough ep 1 from me because I don't like Cocoa - but as the show has episodes that focus on other girls I like more I expect improvement and it won't be at the bottom for long. One Room is cheating by starting with this super cute gardening club girl trying to mask her accent but generally it does not work for me in this manner. Love Live, whose original series I didn't like because I thought the drama was exceptionally poor and whose music I didn't really go for outside of snow halation, and whose sequel series I didn't like because I thought it was like a molecular gastronomy version of anime where everything was scientifically calibrated and nothing felt authentic - and whose music I thought was just terrible, had an expectations grade of "kill me". As you would expect from this setup and asking yourself why I would watch something I know I will hate, the obvious thing happened. Love Live 3 turned out two really good episodes and has me strongly looking forward to ep 3. OF COURSE THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED! will watch if screencaps are promising: rail romanesque, kamitachi, kamisama, maoujou, tabitabi (i will almost assuredly watch at least three of these even if the screencaps aren't promising let's be real) I watched all of these shows, because of course that's how that went down. Sleeping Princess has been my favorite of the bunch, much more humorous than I expected from the promo material. Adachi & Shimamura had a very strong first episode too, not just because the one girl is super cute and I didn't even list it! |
