| how can someone not like side stories? what's the point of reading then? you just like fights without any story, without characters' pasts, feelings, why they are fighting, what makes them fight? the backstory is what makes the battle more epic and enjoyable. If there wasn't a character's backstory I would have dropped this |

| What's the point in reading the battles if we don't know what drives the fighters? One can call this "side stories", but in fact the stories of the characters are what make the fights unpredictable. Considering that the manga tells a story of a tournament battle between men that already died, the flashbacks are the only way we can see something about them. |
| its a tournament manga that has both, the backstories are the only way to add some additional plot in the story, since there are 2 more rounds left there will be 4 more backstories in total |
