----------------------------------------
Good news everyone! Twisted Hel Scans plans to release Shinjuku Swan weekly now!! Today two chapters were released,165 and 165.5. I will make this thread for both as the next will presumably be 166 so it will make more sense.

Chapter 165 & 165.5 here:
This was a heavy chapter alright. A bittersweet separation of friends and allies. Tatsuhiko told Yousuke to forget everything, including him, and live a life away from this emotional baggage. And Seki and Yamashiro got some closing words too. Yamashiro having taken Seki into Burst garnered a lot of respect from him. So much so that he abandoned a dream of becoming the boss himself, and Yamashiro, so kind it's a weakness as Amano once said, decided to force Seki free. Despite Seki being a pillar of Burst, he is now on his own.

Both scenes were excellent in their own right. Yousuke's emotions were subtle but spoke more than words could. And Seki bowing his head always leaves a strong impression. All the times Seki clashed with Yamashiro have certainly been painted with an even stronger sense of love, both looking out for the interests of the other. This definitely invites analysis over the obligation to Yamashiro overpowering the obligation to Taki. Hell, that's kind of what the fight with Tatsuhiko and Taki came down to!

Either way, I expected Yokohama to signify a huge change in Burst's infrastructure, but Seki taking over the torch of the Wizards goes far beyond what I anticipated. Taki did craft the throne for Seki in the end, and now he serves as a potential enemy of Burst. It creates the dynamic that Burst has friendlier opponents than those inside their very walls. Not to mention the chaos of Moriken taking over half of the Wizard scouts and the vultures charging into the freshly opened Yokohama. I suppose Seki will claw back to the top, and Arai should be the new Yakuza in charge to help with that, hopefully as a less erratic man suggested by one of Taki's flashbacks. It reminds me of Haizawa overtaking Tsuchiya.

So, bittersweet farewells and ramifications going forward out of the way, we got to see the promise between a naive Seki and Taki. And Taki wanted a family, he had a simple dream. It all comes together to make obligation, living for others instead of oneself, a theme. Taki laid the footwork to reach Seki's ambition, but by doing so sacrificed his own. By rejecting Taki, it could be read as Seki rejecting his own ambition to preserve Taki's, to push him into living for himself. Just like Seki put Yamashiro's wishes above his own, and Yamashiro prioritized Seki by setting him free. With many ideas circulating around, I'll just say it adds a lot to think about.
