----------------------------------------
Pollyannas injury is finally about to be cured, things were looking good again and now they immediately start the next sequence of bad events?

Will the mostly happy show turn into a drama now? I hope not.

But I wonder why they don't consider the easiest way to resolve this.
Polly could sleep during the 5 hours train ride. Or they could rent a small room in Boston and make it a two day trip with one night of rest.

And Dr. Chilton should either hire a doctor's receptionist or simply turn people down if he hasn't the capacity to treat everyone. After all, he isn't the only doctor in that town and the population itself didn't suddenly increase, so they should be fine if they go to the other doctor again.

By the way, Chilton and Polly now refer to each other as if they were married. But they never showed their wedding.

Don't raise your hopes up in the next arc. To me, this is where the show turned out to be disappointing. If you want to finish watching all of its episodes, be prepared to see something shocking there.

It was mentioned in Episode 14 that Polly inherited her father's estate after her parents died so its possible that she works either as a businesswoman or a stock broker off-screen that's why she has to go back to the village some time. Not to mention, she's now Dr. Chilton's assistant on his clinic which I admit it was a cool idea though I don't know if it was okay for people like her to work there without medical degree back then (In the novel, they both went to Germany because Dr. Chilton wants to study more about his profession). As for Dr. Chilton, it was revealed in the novel that he refuses to say "no" in helping others. Unfortunately, that kind of trait foreshadows his fate in the last several episodes.

In the last chapter of the novel, it was implied in Pollyanna's letter that Polly and Dr. Chilton were married in the sanatorium. They did that because they want their niece to see their wedding personally. She was in the middle of recovery and she couldn't return in the village on time. It was a heartwarming scene, really.

Thank you for your answer in this thread and the other.

I just read the Wiki article on "Pollyanna Grows Up", which I shouldn't have done.

So, Drama wise, it takes the same route as some other popular children novel about a girl with red hair.

Then it looks like that the end of the first part with episode 27 is to be a good point to stop watching this show, assuming that everything that comes now adopts the book "Pollyanna Grows Up".

I don't read much, but if I think about the story with the girl with read hair, writing about such themes must have been popular in the 1900s and 1910s.

I think you managed to save yourself from watching the rest of episodes. From what I read on Japanese WMT fansites, the second part didn't received well by many viewers. It still have some good parts there but it never helped improving the show overall.
