| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- I see my uncomfortable senses were not wrong. This felt so incredibly dark and horrific and edgy, it has to be one of the most in the series. I struggle to think of other moments that felt this gratuitous for such little reason. Burst has looked like villains and been involved with some gnarly stuff, there is no doubt about that. But it all had a better purpose. The manga isn't totally fresh in my mind right now, but seeing this chapter makes me want to compare the morality of both groups, and specifically Momozuka and Seki as parallels. To show just how cold these guys are by clashing the moe comedy of Momozuka and Tatsuhiko briefing bonding over the champagne tower was effective. This is nothing to them, well excluding Shirota who may have a heart. He did try to avoid this, right? Jebus, it's hard to talk about anything except for the raw shock I felt during the explicit nature of this chapter. From the brief but potent look into the sunken cost fallacy of Shirota's whale (I am so sorry I currently forget her name), or best boy Francois still referring to Tatsuhiko by name after being told he didn't exist. At least we have him. A true homie. The sweetest boy around!!!! |
