This Needs a Remake

I enjoyed a lot about Slayers ; most the characters , the comedy, the action , the villains , the plots. There is so much to enjoy but one of the few things that greatly brings down Slayers on my list is the non factor that Gourry is in the story. He has no background, he gets no spotlight. No arc about him like the other 3 MC have gotten. Doesnt develop at all stays or at least play dumb/ stupid and doesn’t realize his true power. Its easy to forget him because he is just there to be there. Hell even characters in the show barely pay attention to him. He doesn’t really have any connections or relationships that are significant with anyone except the priestess.

Other than that Slayers would absolutely be one of the best animes in this generation .Similar to dragon ball super , today’s art with Slayers would be insane

If they do indeed do a remake they need to absolutely have an arc where Gourry has to confront or deal with his past. Idc if it’s an anime original arc , many people have wanted an arc about him for the longest.

Love Slayers tho , Lina is such a badass to me and one of the best female characters to me

Most modern anime sucks, so if they remade Slayers, they'd most likely ruin it.

If you look at the most recent entries in the Slayers franchise, "Revolution" and "Revolution-R," which came out in 2008 and 2009, you can clearly see that the character designs have really gone downhill, by making Lina look extra young and cutesy, which is horrible.

Lina is supposed to be sexy, not cute.

The action was awesome but everything was pretty bad tbh. And I agree with that Lina is suppose to be a sexy badass. They really should have just followed the novels

Thats why I’m hoping for a remake , that will faithfully adapt Slayers and maybe even expand on it. If they bring it back I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up a long running series , if you look they are starting to bring back/ remake old anime.

Baki , Dragonball, Ushio to Tora, Dragon Quest, GeGeGe no Kitarou, Devilman, Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

I actually think Slayers has a good chance to get a remake because of that and also because the light novel recently returned like 3 years ago increasing the chances even more

If anything is to go by from Orphen (Slayers somewhat rival at the time) which recently got a reboot, no it doesn't. Besides, they already tired reviving the IP at the start of the 2010s and there just wasn't any interest from the modern anime fandom. I say let it rest.

The new light novels I hear are doing pretty well in Japan though, so there is a possibility.

Not a good idea. If something isn't an adaptation of a shitty light novel from the past 5 years, nobody would care.

And I don't want to read the name Slayers associated with the word failure.
