I watched the anime like 2 years ago and read the manga about a month ago and I don't remember a lot of stuff being left out. Obviously the anime doesn't have the amazing drawings of the manga but everything else like the crazy action, voices and color are worth it.

Imo you could watch the anime and at the same time read the manga to compare it, plus in case you didn't understand something you'll get it in the manga for sure
