Depends, If the anime is following the story well with decent animations , i will always go for anime as i can easily hold my horses waiting for another season. But, if the anime is doing a bad job at following the story, then manga obviously.

Manga for sure
The anime ignores almost everything but the main story and you miss out on a lot of great stuff plus the animation is not very good and in some scenes you can see a 3d character model and a 2d drawing in the same shots

Definitely the manga, the anime doesn’t follow the story very well it only really shows who wins the matches. From someone who’s both read the manga and watched the anime I definitely wish I would’ve read the manga first.

Manga, I started with the anime and I say that some things there are more "hurried", I think it's good to see the fights animated, but if you can, start with the manga.
