I saw that the creator of Vinland Saga also created this, so I was wondering what the people of the app/website think of this anime.

Is an slices of life in a space environment a little more serious ghat the most in the genre, I recommend it but I recognize that isnt for all. Similar to Cowboy Beebop but with no guns.

The first 10/12 episodes were a bit slow for me being mostly slice of life, while the other half was more entertaining due to the narrative arc in it.

It’s a great anime if you enjoy the slice of life genre that is quite mature in some of the themes and discussions it tackled with. That’s not to say it’s super serious, it has plenty of comedic moments that are genuine, but you can expect things to get heavy in the second half of the show. The first half if I remember right is episodic and gets you familiar with the characters while the second half has a consistent plot that is build with each episode.
Planetes also has a wonderful main heroine that is hopeful and charming but without leaning into a lot of fanservice or being ditzy, she calls the others out on their shit if she thinks they are being unreasonable.
