The Case Study of Vanitas
| So, I decided to watch this show out of the blue and was wondering if it utilizes its setting of 19th century France as more than just window dressing. I really like learning about history and the 19th century was a time of monumental political change and violence for France. Among other things, there were numerous revolutions of all kinds from the 1790s to 1870. Part of the reason why I ask is that they mention a Count in the second episode. Throughout the century, aristocratic titles were abolished and reinstated in France multiple times. Edit: A queen has been mentioned, too! |

Insertnamesz said: There's a whole arc involving the Beast of Gevaudan which has real historical reportings (although ofc just a myth). But not a whole lot of politics yet, unfortunately for you. It has a nice aesthetic though, and the characters are easy to become attached to. I'd give it a shot still just in case. I think I will.
