Damn, I feel bad for Richard this episode after realizing what Henry has done before. "This is my punishment"...

Honestly, I also believe Elizabeth may not be mentally stable anymore, if she was at all. It's crazy to think how fast events develop in this show with its timeline.

Going to say this now, I think this studio’s biggest strength is their work in making use of a beautiful combination of background art and special effects. This to me is really evident in this episode, especially in Edward’s last few moments.

Personally think this could’ve been a stellar episode, but aside from cheap animation, I’m not entirely convinced with the story’s pacing.

Richard must've felt the sin of death seeping his blood to see that Warwick is dead in battle, to which the Lancastrians under Queen Margaret felt the weight for the House of York to decimate them all.

The War of the Roses on this exact moment, and Anne's pressure mounts on Edward of Lancaster to preserve his life before war takes his to knock him out in order for him to not be involved in this battle. The Yorkists thought they were goners, that is if they're without Richard's help.

Edward of Lancaster is smitten by Richard, but the whole confusion of him and Anne doesn't smolder the hatred one bit. And bringing their surrender into context, Edward held towards the Lancaster faith, and died at the hands of the one he loved: Richard.

Truly solemn.

I could say the same, but this is such a missed opportunity for this episode to stand out as the best episode yet so far.[/b]

This was a good episode. Really good.

Anne has started caring for Edward of Lancaster, and she replaced him in battle.

The scene where Margaret talked to Anne reminded me of the scenes in GoT whenever Cersei talked to Sansa.

Richard's fall into despair was tragic. The two people who became his friends were both his enemies from Lancaster.

The end for Margaret was fitting, but I am sad for Edward. It's hard to believe he died. He was a sweet guy who held no evil in him. I also feel sad for Richard who had to kill him, and a bit sad for Anne who lost yet another family. (Though, I can't feel too bad for Anne because she doesn't have much depth compared to others.)

This episode is going to complicate things between Richard and Henry!

My heart aches for Edward, he didn't deserve to die. I hoped Richard was going to forgive him 😢😢. But he died happy knowing his true love was the one who ended with his life...

Great episode but yep, I hope the animation stops being cheap at some point.

I wonder how Henry will react to Edward's death. They didn't seem to have any relationship and Henry seemed to ignore Edward most of the time, but it's still sad to lose your child. Then again, he seemed to have had a child against his will, so I don't know either way.

Poor Edward. He had helped rescue York Edward earlier too. Too bad they didn't have any pity on him.

And just like that Edward is gone...
George the coward stabbed him from behind but at least the pain releasing blow came from Richard.

I imagine that Anne's character will harden immensely after this bloodbath.

Ngl I'm super confused how Richard was unaware that Edward was in fact a Lancaster when, during the onset of conflict between the two houses, the former was imprisoned and taunted by the latter?

Richard is also hurt knowing the truth... But it is so sad that Richard never knew that it is actually Edward was his first kiss.

Anne posing as Edward winds up disarming Richard and protecting the Lancaster boy on the battlefield, was gold lol

Damn... Edward didn't deserved that, he wasn't a bad kid, just was lacking in judgment. There goes one of my favs characters.

Interesting how the tables have turned with Margaret. There's no question she used her son as a tool to try and re-gain power... but on the other hand, I have no doubt she genuinely wanted to trade her life for his.

Richard, Edward, Margaret, Anne... everyone's punishment was hard.
Looking forward to the next episode!

Okay so after binging nearly half of this series in a single night, I've come to one conclusion: every major commander in either of these armies is stupid (not in making combat strategies, though), except Richard and Buckingham. And nobody deserves to be king.

Edward of York isn't fit to be king because he can't help but think with his dick. Literally slighted another major nation over it. George is too easily swayed and doesn't think for himself ever. Richard is too messed up mentally from very valid childhood trauma, body dysmorphia, and self-worth issues. Warwick is so loyal to a dead man's claim to the throne that he'll plot against the dead man's actual wishes that the claim is for his family, not just him. Edward of Lancaster seems to have made up an entire hidden backstory for Richard and fully convinced himself it's fact just to avoid thinking he might perhaps be gay. And Henry doesn't even wanna be here.

I don't know enough about English history to know what is and isn't historically accurate here, but *this* version of England is royally screwed no matter what happens.

I'm excited for the angst portion surrounding Richard and Henry's revelation next.

Also, where tf did the York brother's awful mom go? Did I miss something or did she just vanish never to be mentioned again in anything other than Richard's trauma hallucinations?
