Asako finally leaves the guest house of Masashi's family in order to return to Tokyo. The night before, Masashi tells her that he hates her because he feels betrayed by her since she told him she would always be there. She says she hates him too, but it's quite obvious that she doesn't mean it and is trying to do him a favor by making it easier for him to forget about her. He doesn't come out of his room to say goodbye to her the next morning, and the last pages of this chapter show how he runs into her room, sniffs the pillow that still has her scent on it and masturbates. He then runs out to the sea where it's raining heavily and cries out her name in despair, soaked in the rain.

Having read all 25 chapters that have been released as of now, I have mixed feelings about this manga. On the one hand, I really liked how Masashi's childhood was portrayed, especially his interactions with Asako. On the other hand, I think that the story in the present moves a bit too slow, which in part is due to the fact that Masashi is torn between finding out more about Asako and forgetting about her altogether and moving on with his life. I'll probably still read the upcoming chapters because I still have hopes for Masashi and Asako to meet again and maybe even become a couple, though at the moment it doesn't seem likely.

I feel sad that Asako is belittling Masashi's feelings when she said: "for you 'Asa-nee' isn't something special." Masashi was always all over Asako, but it was her that forced him to burst out of his bubble. That's how he made friends with new people and that's exactly what Asako wanted, but now she is stomping his feelings. I understand the morality of their relationship, but she is just being cruel.
