It has been a while since I watched this season. But why were the witches blaming Subaru at the end. They knew his whole situation right? Isn't he the victim?

I think that scene will probably make more sense in the light novel. But my take on this is that the witches are trying to convey to Subaru that shouldering on his loved one's burden on his lonesome, using return by death to do that. His idea of being a hero was conceited. Don't why they call that mindset worse than a witch or I am wrong. I have just started reading arc 4.

I think they are telling him he should stop using return by death as a tool, because he has started to think his life has no value when compared to the ones of his loved ones.

It's simple. Similarly to Okabe in Steins;Gate, he started to consider Return by Death as mere convinience and his own life as totally expendable, which should be a big nono.

basically he starts to think of return by death as a tool to save everyone, becoming desensitized to the fact that he is literally dying and starting over.

The ‘greed if’ route shows what happens when it’s taken to the extreme and what may have happened if subaru continued like this. makes it make more sense imo

He was trivializing his own life which was, for them(or at least Minerva), a monstrous act.

He was undervaluing his life. He kept killing himself in other world lines and using his life as some throwable trash to reset the world into a future he would prefer. They showed him what happened to the people around him after he had committed suicide in the previous world lines and how life continues for them, even if it necessarily doesn’t for himself. They live through the pain and suffering of mourning for Subaru while he’s just over here willingly throwing his life away.

Wasn’t that just an illusion/dream or smth? I don’t think he was actually creating a whole new reality every time he died… Correct me if I’m wrong tho

please tell me those were just illusion if the other timelines continue after Subaru dying its really messed (Like Subaru said)

They don't want him to suffer,it's suppose to give him a way to succeed. He was purposely killing himself and they didn't think he would use it that way.
