Ages of characters.

Why do these characters look around 25 Years old when in fact they are only 12.
No way does Zhu Zhuqing look so young or am i missing something, nor is Mu Bai a young teen.
It is stated that the characters cannot join the Sect if they are over 12 Years old.

Yeah, I wouldn't pay too much attention to ages. They don't make any sense, they don't look like it, but that's how anime etc. work and sell.
Even later in the story he is only 15-16 but looks 25...

Zhu Zhuqing in leather looks quite sexy, not that i would think that of a 12 Year old.
