First let me say that i love this series and so far the anime has been solid 9.9/10 for me but,
4 season in and i still can't really grasp Ainz overall personality and the treatment he is giving towards any non Nazarick people. One time he say that he wants to create Utopia for anyone that will be under him regardless of race, just like how he took various races under his wings, but other time we see him mercilessly massacring innocent people just like the current war.

but wouldn't that only creates more fear towards his current citizen? also while he says he completely lose his humanity, sometimes he still act like a human. Like how he treat his subordinate just like how he would treat them when he was just a normal human worker. Also how he treat Enri's sister like a lovely uncle playing with his niece, it looks really genuine.

Ains doesn't hate humans.
Everything he ever does is for direct benefit of Nazarick.

the writing is really inconsistent aswell.

but to answer the question. he basically doesn't care about anyone outside of nazarick, and is jaded with his current reality. which like nearly every other isekai LN protagonists, it never hits him that it's real. which is one of many things I really find annoying about many japanese authors.

the reason he does awful things is simply because the others miss understood him, and he's too immature and cowardly to be honest about it, In fear they realize he's actually not that smart.

he is always fully human, even if the author like to pretend he's not. although, like many other isekai mc's. he's either on the autism spectrum, or a sociopath. he cares more about fitting in with expectations, than what they represent, which is actually a common theme among nearly every isekai LN mc I've read that are written by amateur authors, such as moonlit fantasy.

all LN mc's "feel nothing after killing". the author just likes to use his undead status as this mc's particular reason.

as for his undead status. his reality as a lich is more like a competition with imposed limitations or rules, rather than a state of being.

everytime he's "overcome with emotion". something impossible for other liches, and overlords. he gets penalized with a status effect that cures his "emotions". which is honestly silly, but I guess the author didn't want to write about an actual in-human monster as his protagonist.

so does he hate humans? nope, he doesn't care. he wants to go back to his previous world, and build memories with his guildmates, or find them in this "empty world". the only interest he has in his current reality, are his friends creations(nazarick), and any hope his friends are there.

he would burn the entire world to the ground without a second thought if he didn't think it'd somehow lower his friends opinions of him. not because he'd get any pleasure from doing so. but because he doesn't care about this hollow world.

worst example, in my opinion, of making an isekai.

if your mc doesn't give a shit about what is supposed to be an epic fantasy world, and would prefer go back to his original, which was literally a dystopian corporation, polluted wasteland, where you die just being outside, and the majority of the population is worked to death, or dying of malnutrition and emaciation(basically a cartoonizes japanese hellscape).
then why should I?

at the end. I will put I am a HUGE overlord fan. but I hate what the author did with the MC. and now, if you go look at reddit, you will see it's almost unanimous that the last 2 volumes are complete garbage, and that the author himself HATES OVERLORD.

it really seems likely he's going to give the series an absolutely offensive sendoff for the finale. I hope not.

I still really like alot of the guardians, and stories, etc. but I wished the protagonist was replaced with a member of corpus of the abyss. they seem alot cooler to me than a closet "salary man", from Japan, who just wants to sell cheap vacuums, or used cars or whatever.

It's pretty simple. If he gets to know someone and forms a friendly, or mutually beneficial bond with them. Those people regardless of their race are safe and will prosper.
I mean the question that leaders in the middle ages needed to ask themselves was, "Is it better to be feared or loved".
The MC being an undead, means that his choice is pretty obvious, he only needs to be loved by few. No reason why can't be feared by the rest.
