Cliche plots with underdeveloped elements which ultimately concludes this romcom as mediocre, unfortunately.

Most of the characters are underutilized, with poor flawed pacing in changes that make the overall progress of the story lackluster and disappointing.
From the strict father, supporting friend, protective little sister, love rivals, bonding classmates, and male love interest himself.

The romcom starts off great.
With exceptional manners of ninja skill to hide her presence when getting close to her crush which was incredibly entertaining to read and imagine realistically.
I personally thought it could look somewhat realistic (albeit with supernatural speed) in body mechanics early on, until she displayed even grander feats later which ceased my interpretation of imagining her parkour with realism... which was slightly disappointing because it was a new aspect that few stories have- Realistic ninja skill. In romance no less.

Chiyoyo's shyness as a hiding ninja is adorable, but it quickly stops for the most part after she finally properly befriends him.

Aside from Wataru the male protagonist crush of Chiyoyo which I'll discuss later...
Out of all the flawed characters in use of the story;

The first is Tamami.
Chiyoyo's "first" friend who's an admirer of Wataru, except essentially being another stalker in love with him like Chiyoyo ... she never acts on those romantic feelings, and is solely briefly used as the supporting character for Chiyoyo's love.
Character-wise, her very short small stature, with glasses and strong angry outbursts against Chiyoyo's fear is a good entertaining counteract to Chiyoyo,
but even with the few moments of defense or rage where her anger and words motivate our heroine, there's nothing else to her character.
... There's no other exposure to their relationship as friends except for those moments because the story always quickly moves to the next plot after ending the previous one.
The start of their friendship itself is odd as well.
As a conscious probable reality that she'll never be Wataru's girlfriend, she decides to blackmail Chiyoyo as a stalker to use it as an excuse to ensure she'll change to win over Wataru, while ultimately being a method to have fun with Chiyoyo as a friend.
After that, there's never any discussion of Tamami's feelings or her life at all. It's completely neglected.

Then there's Kai.
The enemy rival clan of the Suzume clan who inanely falls in love with the story's heroine, Chiyoyo.
He could of had better potential as a love triangle rival. Even better with the setup from Chiyoyo's little sister, Sayoyo who utilized him to get her sister away from Wataru and keep the code of only loving another shinobu.
Surprisingly, he was barely utilized as a love triangle for only being in two failed dates and basically meaningless.
I'm not a fan of love triangles. Rather, I despise love rivals for the most part, but some are good in forcing the plot to progress in some way for the main couple, while possibly even adding a new couple from two individuals working together against the main which could have been Kai and Sayoyo, but in the end he was useless as a love rival.
He was just a setup for his stronger big brother Shuu to find out of his little broter's secret alliance, leading to him fighting the Suzume sisters.

Sayoyo herself was decent, but could of been more somehow.
A traditionally more skilled little sister, somewhat cold on the surface for being a shinobu, yet being a protective little sister is sweet.
The way in which she tries her best to protect her big sister against her father's less pleasant methods is endearing in its own way, but her plan of stealing Wataru was odd and distasteful.
It shows how far she's willing to go, but I think there's a contradiction to that method. How would she have got rid of Wataru afterwards if he fell in love with her instead of her big sister.
Her cracking moment of sobbing was bittersweet, but aside from unleashing her emotion of fear of death, they should have added all of her feelings for her sister, because that's never shown later.
... Another neglected trait to her character is her disrespect towards men as tools. She's never shown to have truly or fully learned of Wataru's charm or her subordinate. Even he or whoever is the second (who was never revealed) could have had more development.

The female love rivals are barely used in the story as well, aside from a few remarks and glares.
Overall the love rival's last impactful scene is very good standalone for its entertainment and bit of drama at the point of where Chiyoyo feels sick after hearing Wataru's mutual feelings when her memories still aren't back,
but just as Tamami critique her for only looking at Wataru from a distance, these female love rivals were meaningless.

Wataru himself is very basic and dull.
The very cliche, somewhat handsome, fairly talented in soccer, admired by everyone, kind and caring without bias to anyone. That is "charming", but he's bland.

Our heroine protagonist herself, Chiyoyo is a decent character. Easily the best out of everyone, but fairly simple in hindsight.
A talented shinobu with the potential to be the very best stealth ninja for her unequal skill to hide her presence, but has a vulnerability to presence from her feelings of love.

Aside from the slightly underwhelming plots of the supporting friend and love rivals, I particularly liked the obstacle of her father from breaking the shinobu code of dating a civilian.
The last arc of a pill causing memory loss of who's on her mind (Wataru, and her father) was unique and interesting, but with how short it was, it wasn't as dramatic or impactful as it could have been.
As a way to force drama into the story it's great, but it's kinda short-lived. Her dad attempting to stop her and commanding his youngest daughter to stop her is well done, but it's weird how he's completely out of the fight against Shuu even though he was chasing Chiyo just before that.

... My final critisicm is the development of Chiyoyo after she finally befriends Wataru.
From being extremely fearly and shy in revealing herself in any way to Wataru, even though she puts a tremendous effort in thanking him and confessing, after being motivated by Tamami and getting a great opportunity to properly befriend him... the change in her character doesn't seem to have much of that shyness at all anymore from the brief moments we see them together afterwards.
It also never shows a proper representation of how they became closer during the seemingly decent amount of time of at least a few weeks and not just days.
During that time, with the plots incoming and changing, even though she's still a little fidgety, she seems very comfortable.
I also didn't like how he willingly let himself be dragged around by Sayoyo on their first amusement/fireworks date as friends. He's a pushover, and never showed a genuine adoration or romantic interest to her throughout the story.

The action was cool, her variety of hidden techniques were my favorite, her bird familiar was funny, the plot of shinobu code was entertaining, it was cute... but very flawed. 4/10.
