| Its RWBY and anything connected to a corrupted company like Rooster Shit will always be garbage now. Its a shame too, because to me RWBY went to shit midway through Vol. 3 and it just got worse and I REALLY hoped this would be different story and start a new canon. But noooo, it just come across as a worthless filler arc between Vol 1 and 2. with Weiss doing a terrible cosplay of Esdeath. Side Note: Pyrrha is my favorite RWBY Waifu, but I feel like Rooster Trash really hates her, after she died, they treated her as a after thought, in IQ, she's very beautiful in anime form, but treated as background character, especially in the Nightmare World. Also WHY IN THE LOVE OF EFFING GOD you would bring Jaune with you to the Nightmare World instead of Pyrrha, especially how Weiss likes to project her thoughts on her.  |

| It was half-assed indeed. They have put more work in Assault Lily, which has 100 times better animation than this. Then we have Magia Record, which again is well animated. Same goes for Bishounen Tanteidan. This indeed was a side project and a quick cash grab, and I'm sure they had done only 3 episodes when first PV aired. Even OP / ED was low effort / unfinished, infact the complete show was low effort. This sure had more budget than Luminous Witches, but worse management and timing (Luminous Witches was already delay a lot). Hopefully they won't pick more shows and focus on fixing their workflow, because they have talented inhouse artists like Nagata and Kawata, and it's sad to see them working in such management hell. There's no lack of good stories, but surely lack of good Directors in Shaft. Even Lidenfilms was able to make better Shaft-like show than Shaft itself because of a good direction (I'm talking about Yofukashi no Uta). Still I'm glad they are experimenting with different thorwaway shows and not ruining the flagship series they've worked on (Thanks for not picking Monogatari series, 3-gatsu no Lion). Magia Record, Assault Lily are under-rated shows though. |

| Considering how bad RWBY became V5-onwards and how even V1-4 left a lot to be desired, I very much expected this anime to be terrible, and it was bad in most of the ways I expected. There was definitely some freshly baffling decisions tho, and the most annoying part is the very first 1 & 1/4 episodes and the final episode showed how this show could improve upon V1 and better develop Weiss between V1 and V2. The big arc of the show ended up being worthless filler that barely functions as a character study for Weiss, and doesn't even actually develop Weiss at all. Like the main series, the show hard wastes the side cast, which is maddening since this was the perfect time to do more with them and with the Beacon setting, but nope. The show's visuals are also around as bad if not ultimately even worse than V1. Even with the decent number of good cuts, it still looks even flatter and more stilted than any volume of the main show, and the CG is so damn bad here. |
