No spoilers please, can someone just tell me how faithful is this anime to the source material so far?

It's not the best nor the worst adaptation, since some parts of the light novel are hard to animate.
Firstly, some parts of the light novel are more suitable for the light novel than the animation. Because the animation will be able to reveal some tricks easier than the light novel that only has letters. And, those parts are making it to be very difficult to animate without revealing things.
Secondly, from your question. Some parts have been cut out from the anime. But there was a reason behind it.

If you want to ask about the missing training arc.

Thank you for the answer. Since you are familiar with the LN, do you think it's worth it to keep watching?

For me, yes.
The first volume is just an introduction. There will be more tricks and secrets revealed in future episodes. If you think that the story is just focusing on Lily, it's not. You will be able to see the rest of them in future episodes while they're playing the major roles.
